Tool cases and bags

Tool cases and bags

Tool boxes and tool bags for home workshops, tradespeople and service technicians, with over 350 products in our range. You will find plastic boxes, stackable system cases, carry cases and fabric bags from brands such as BOSCH, MAKITA, STANLEY and DEWALT.

Options run from a simple box for a garage shelf to a professional case for everyday site work.

How to choose a tool box or tool bag

Type. A hard box or case protects tools better and is easy to stack in a van or store room. A bag is lighter and gives quicker access to each tool, so electricians and maintenance engineers who move from job to job often prefer one.

Material and protection. Hard plastic copes well with knocks and moisture, a metal box is rigid but heavier, and a fabric bag is best with a reinforced base. For outdoor work or transport in a van, look for a lid that closes tightly enough to keep out water and dust.

System compatibility. Many manufacturers have their own stackable case system, with cases that lock onto one another. In our range, BOSCH, MAKITA, DEWALT and TANOS all offer such systems. Choose cases from the same system, because a stack made of different makers' cases often does not sit firmly.

Size and layout. Measure the longest tool you want to store first. Inserts, dividers and small-parts compartments keep things in order, while a full box gets heavy quickly, so check the handles and, for larger boxes, the wheels.

Colour. Our range includes black, blue, red, green and white models. Colour matters mainly because a brightly coloured box is easier to spot among other items on site, whereas protection and capacity depend on other features.

Frequently asked questions about tool boxes and bags

What is the difference between a tool box and a tool bag?

A tool box is rigid, so it protects tools better against knocks and moisture, and it can often be stacked with others. A bag is lighter and more flexible, and it gives quicker access to tools. A box suits transport and storage, while a bag suits daily work when you are on the move.

Can tool boxes from different brands be stacked together?

Not always. Stackable cases lock together with a specific mechanism, which usually fits only cases from the same system. Check that a case is compatible with the ones you already own before buying.

Which tool box should I choose for a van or outdoor use?

Choose a rigid plastic or metal box with a tightly closing lid and sturdy latches. It will protect your tools from water, dust and impact. If you carry several boxes, models from the same system keep the stack stable.

What size of tool box do I need?

The size depends on your longest tool and how much you want to store. Measure your tools and leave a little room so the lid closes easily. A large, full box can be heavy, so several smaller stackable boxes are often easier to handle.
