The robotics category covers quadruped and humanoid robots, commercial cleaning robots and service robots. Our range includes over 20 products, mostly from Unitree, along with Gausium and Orion Star.
They suit universities, schools, developer teams and businesses that want to automate floor cleaning or visitor assistance.
How to choose a robot
Purpose. Decide first whether the robot is for research and teaching or for everyday work such as cleaning floors or greeting visitors. Research robots are usually programmed by their owners, while commercial cleaning and service robots work with ready-made functions.
Type of movement. A quadruped robot copes better with stairs, uneven ground and obstacles. A humanoid robot is usually chosen for research into bipedal walking and manipulation, and wheeled cleaning and service robots are steadiest on flat indoor floors.
Programming. If you plan to write your own code, check whether the manufacturer offers a software development kit (SDK), documentation and sample code. For business robots, simple control through an app or tablet and clear settings matter more.
Battery and sensors. Look at the running time on one charge, the charging method and the sensors fitted: cameras, lidar and depth sensors. They determine how well the robot finds its way, detects obstacles and, for cleaning robots, how much floor area it covers in a shift.
Brands we carry
- Unitree: a Chinese manufacturer known for robot dogs and humanoid robots, which researchers, universities and developers use.
- Gausium: makes commercial autonomous cleaning robots for large spaces such as shopping centres, airports and warehouses.
- Orion Star: builds service robots with voice interaction that work in reception areas, shops and exhibitions.
Frequently asked questions about robots
What is the difference between a quadruped and a humanoid robot?
A quadruped robot walks on four legs, which makes it more stable and better at handling rough ground and stairs. A humanoid robot has a human body shape and walks on two legs, so it is more often used for research into balance, locomotion and manipulation.
Can I program a robot myself?
Yes, many robots made for research and education can be programmed, because manufacturers usually provide an SDK and documentation. Check the product description for the specific model. Commercial cleaning and service robots are usually configured rather than programmed from scratch.
How does a commercial cleaning robot differ from a robot vacuum?
A commercial cleaning robot is made for large areas such as shops, warehouses or airports, so it typically has larger tanks, a wider cleaning path and a longer running time. A household robot vacuum is designed for rooms at home.
Where are service robots used?
Service robots work in reception areas, shops, exhibitions and hotels: they greet visitors, answer common questions by voice and guide people to the right place. Before buying, check that the robot supports the language you need.
