The monitor stands category covers desk stands and mounts that raise, tilt or rotate a screen to make a workspace more comfortable. Our range includes more than 10 models, among them Ergotron, Huanuo, Gembird and Techly products. They suit home offices, company desks and gaming setups.
How to choose a monitor stand
Type of stand. A simple riser lifts the screen and needs nothing fixed to the desk. An arm mount clamps to the desk edge or fits through a hole in the desktop, moves the screen more freely and frees up space on the surface.
VESA compatibility. Most monitors have VESA mounting holes on the back, usually 75 × 75 or 100 × 100 mm. Check that yours has them before choosing an arm, because without them you will need a plain riser-style stand.
Weight and screen size. Every stand is rated for a maximum weight and screen diagonal. For wide and curved monitors choose a model with some margin, and match a gas-spring arm to the weight of your screen.
Adjustment. Height, tilt and side-to-side swivel matter most. Rotation to portrait helps when working with long documents or code. The top edge of the screen should sit roughly at eye level.
Desk and space. Check the thickness and edge of the desktop before buying a clamp mount, as it needs a firm surface. Also consider how much room is left behind the desk when the arm is extended.

Frequently asked questions
What is the VESA standard on a monitor stand?
VESA is a standardised layout of mounting holes on the back of a monitor. The most common spacings are 75 × 75 and 100 × 100 mm. If your monitor and the stand use the same layout, they fit together without extra parts.
How high should a monitor be?
The top edge of the screen should be roughly at eye level or slightly below, and the screen about an arm's length away. That makes height adjustment more important than most other features of a stand.
Can a stand be attached to any desk?
Not to every desk. A clamp needs a firm desktop edge, and glass, very thin or curved edges may not work. In that case a mount through a hole in the desk or a simple stand placed on the surface is the better option.
What is the difference between a stand and an arm mount?
A stand is usually a riser that the monitor sits on, so its position can be changed only a little. An arm mount attaches to the desk, lets you change height, distance and angle, and leaves the space under the screen free.
