This category covers privacy filters and screen protectors for laptops, monitors and tablets. Our range includes over 300 models from brands such as 3M, Kensington, Dicota, StarTech and Targus. Some filters hide the image from people looking at the screen from the side, while others simply reduce reflections.
How to choose a screen privacy filter
Screen size and aspect ratio. A filter has to match your screen's diagonal and aspect ratio exactly, so check your device's specification first. Most filters in our range are 16:10 or 16:9, and there are also 3:2, 4:3 and 21:9 models. Filters of the same diagonal in 16:9 and 16:10 differ in height, so the wrong ratio will leave part of the screen uncovered.
Features. Not every filter in this category hides the image. Some only cut glare (anti-glare), while others combine privacy with anti-reflective coating or blue light filtering. If you work on trains, in cafés or in an open-plan office and want to protect your data, choose a model that clearly lists privacy in its description. An anti-glare filter is more useful when a window or lamp washes out the screen.
Attachment method. An adhesive strip holds the filter firmly but makes it harder to remove. Magnetic filters and models with flip-attach tabs or attachment strips come off in seconds, which helps if you often show your screen to colleagues. Our range includes all of these options.
Image quality and display type. A privacy filter always darkens the picture slightly, so you may need to raise the brightness. Most filters work in landscape orientation only, so a rotated or portrait monitor needs a model made for both positions. Only a few such filters are in our range. Most models are designed for LCD screens.

Frequently asked questions about screen privacy filters
Does a privacy filter really hide the screen from other people?
Yes, but only when they look from the side. The person sitting directly in front of the screen sees the image normally, while someone beside or behind you sees a dark panel. It does not protect against someone looking straight at the screen.
How do I know which filter fits my laptop?
You need the screen diagonal and aspect ratio, for example 16:9 or 16:10. You can find both in your device's specification, and the filter's description should list the same dimensions. If they do not match, the filter will either leave part of the screen uncovered or not fit.
Does a privacy filter reduce screen brightness?
Yes, a privacy filter darkens the image a little because it blocks part of the light from the sides. Raising the brightness slightly is usually enough to compensate. Filters that only reduce glare do not darken the screen as much.
Can I remove a screen filter and put it back?
That depends on the attachment method. Magnetic filters and models with flip-attach tabs or attachment strips can be removed and refitted. An adhesive strip is harder to remove, so it suits a filter that will stay on the screen permanently.
