This category contains document scanning software licences and renewals for offices, archives and businesses that scan documents in large volumes. Most of the range is from Kodak, and there are also ABBYY solutions.
With more than 50 products, you can narrow the choice by scanner model, licence length and the computer you plan to run it on.
How to choose scanning software
Scanner compatibility. Check first which devices the software works with. Most products in our range are meant for Kodak scanners, some are for a specific model such as the i4200, and others are compatible with Kodak Capture Pro. Software made for a different manufacturer or series may not work with your scanner.
New licence or renewal. If you already use the software, a renewal is enough, while a fresh installation needs a licence. Our range has both, so check whether the product is listed as a licence or a renewal before you order.
Licence length. Terms of 1, 3 and 5 years are available. One year suits a short project or a trial period, while a three or five year licence is more often chosen by those who scan continuously and do not want to arrange a renewal every year.
Computer requirements. Many of the programs list Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro, and the recommended RAM is most often 16 GB. This matters most when you scan large batches, because a slow computer slows down the whole job.
Brands we carry
- Kodak: the manufacturer is known for document scanners, and its Capture Pro software is designed for batch capture, indexing and exporting documents to other systems.
- ABBYY: the company is known for optical character recognition (OCR) technology, which turns scanned pages into text you can search and edit.
These are currently the only two manufacturers in this category.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a scanning software licence and a renewal?
A licence is what you need when installing the software for the first time, while a renewal extends the use of software you already have. Our range includes both. Check whether the product is marked as a licence or a renewal before ordering.
What licence lengths are available for scanning software?
Our range includes licences of 1, 3 and 5 years. One year is convenient for a temporary project, while longer terms are more often chosen for everyday use. Pick the term according to how long you expect to keep scanning documents.
What computer does scanning software need?
Many of the programs in our range list Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro. The recommended RAM is 16 GB in most cases. Always check the exact requirements on the page of the specific product.
Will Kodak scanning software work with another manufacturer's scanner?
Usually not. In our range, the Kodak programs are listed as compatible with Kodak scanners, and some are intended for a specific model such as the i4200. If your device comes from another manufacturer, check compatibility first.
