How to choose a UPS battery
Compatibility with your UPS. Start with the model number of your UPS and the manufacturer's compatibility list. Batteries with a similar capacity can differ in connectors and dimensions, so buy for the exact model rather than by appearance.
Voltage. The new battery must match the voltage your UPS requires. Our range includes batteries for 48 V, 72 V, 96 V and 180 V systems, and the higher voltages are typically used in more powerful UPS units with external battery cabinets.
Battery technology. Most UPS units use sealed lead-acid (VRLA) batteries, and our range includes them. Lithium-ion batteries are generally lighter and last longer, but they only suit UPS models that the manufacturer has designed for that technology.
Operating temperature. Most batteries in our range are rated for 0 to 40 °C, and one is rated from -15 °C. This matters if your UPS sits in a warm cabinet or an unheated room, because heat shortens the life of lead-acid batteries considerably.
Replacement timing. Lead-acid batteries usually last a few years, so it is worth replacing them even while the UPS still works. If your UPS holds several batteries, replace the whole set at once, since one weak battery limits the runtime of the entire string.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know when a UPS battery needs replacing?
Replace it when the UPS shows a battery warning, shuts down earlier than usual during a test, or no longer holds the load for as long as it used to. A swollen battery casing is a serious sign that it should be replaced immediately.
Can I fit a battery from another manufacturer or with a different voltage?
You must never fit a battery with a different voltage, as the UPS may malfunction or be damaged. A battery from another manufacturer can be used only if the voltage, capacity, connectors and dimensions all match and the UPS maker does not restrict it.
How long does a UPS battery last?
Sealed lead-acid batteries usually last a few years, depending on temperature, the number of discharges and the load. Lithium-ion batteries generally last longer, but in every case it is worth following the UPS manufacturer's recommendations.
What is the difference between lead-acid and lithium-ion UPS batteries?
