Our range includes over 10 products from AUERSWALD.
How to choose telephony software
Compatibility with your system. Start by identifying the manufacturer, model and firmware version of your phone system. Most telephony software works only with equipment from the same manufacturer, so AUERSWALD software is meant for AUERSWALD systems.
Licence scope. Check how many users, handsets or VoIP channels the licence covers. If the company is growing, it is worth allowing some headroom so you do not have to extend the system again soon.
Features you need. Before buying, list what your current system lacks: voicemail, call forwarding, integration with computer applications or a mobile app. Some functions may already be built into the base system, so check that you are not buying something you already have.
Installation and maintenance. Find out whether the software has to be installed on a separate computer or is activated on the system itself, and who will configure it. For more complex business setups, a telecoms integrator is often a useful help.

Frequently asked questions
What is telephony software?
Telephony software is a program that adds features to a phone system or makes it easier to manage. It may take the form of extra functions, user or channel licences and administration tools. It works alongside the system rather than replacing it.
Will AUERSWALD software work with another manufacturer's phone system?
Most likely not. Manufacturers usually develop their software for their own systems, so check that your system's model and version are listed as compatible before you buy. If you run another make of PBX, you would need to look for that manufacturer's own solutions.
Do I need new hardware to add features?
Often you do not. Many functions are switched on in software, for example by activating a licence, with no extra equipment needed. Some features may still require a newer system firmware version, so read the product description first.
Is a softphone enough instead of desk phones?
For many employees it is, provided the system supports it, especially for people who work remotely or at a computer. A softphone runs on a computer or smartphone and can use the same internal extension number. At a reception desk or in a warehouse, a desk handset is often still more convenient.
