This category contains gaming mouse mats, large desk mats, illuminated and ergonomic models, and wrist rests. They suit gamers, office workers and anyone who spends long hours at a computer. Our range includes over 900 products, with brands such as SHARKOON, RAZER, FELLOWES and WHITE SHARK.
How to choose a mouse mat
Size. A small mat fits beside the keyboard, while a long desk mat covers the whole work area, so both keyboard and mouse sit on it. If you play with a low mouse sensitivity setting and make wide sweeping movements, choose a larger surface so the mouse does not run off the edge. On a cramped desk, a smaller mat is enough.
Surface and base. A cloth surface usually gives more control, while a smooth hard surface lets the mouse glide faster. Check for a rubber, non-slip underside: a mat that creeps across the desk makes accurate aiming harder. Most mats in our range are black, but you will also find blue, grey, red, white and multicolour ones, and the surface is usually a single colour, although some have an image or pattern.
Wrist support. If you work at a computer for long hours, choose a mat with a built-in wrist rest or buy a separate wrist rest. Some of our mats have one built in, and standalone wrist rests have their own subcategory. A rest reduces strain on the wrist, but it does not replace regular breaks or a good sitting position.
Lighting. Illuminated mats are generally powered over USB and have light effects around the edges. Lighting does not change how the mouse tracks, so choose it only if you want the mat to match your keyboard or other desk accessories.

Frequently asked questions about mouse mats
What size of mouse mat should I buy?
Choose a size where the mouse never reaches the edge of the mat during normal use. Gamers often prefer a large desk mat, while a smaller mat is usually enough for office work. Measure the free space on your desk before buying.
What is the difference between a cloth and a hard mouse mat?
A cloth mat usually gives more control and is quieter, while a hard surface lets the mouse glide faster. Hard surfaces are easier to wipe clean, but cloth tends to suit those who value precise aiming. In the end it depends on your style of play or work.
Do I need a wrist rest with my mouse mat?
A wrist rest is useful if you sit at a computer for long periods, because it reduces strain on the wrist. For short sessions you can do without one. You can buy a separate rest or choose a mat with one built in.
How do I clean a mouse mat?
Cloth mats can usually be hand washed with mild soap and lukewarm water, while hard surfaces only need a damp cloth. Do not immerse illuminated models in water unless the manufacturer says it is safe. Let the mat dry naturally, away from a radiator.
