Wrist rests are for people who spend long hours at a keyboard and mouse and want to keep their wrists from bending or pressing against the edge of the desk. Our range has over 60 products, with keyboard and mouse wrist rests from brands including Kensington, LogiLink, Fellowes and Renkforce.
How to choose a wrist rest
Purpose. A keyboard wrist rest is long and narrow, while a mouse wrist rest is shorter and usually more rounded. If you use both devices for many hours a day, two separate rests make more sense than one.
Height. The rest should sit at about the same level as the front edge of the keyboard so that your wrist stays straight. Low-profile keyboards need a thinner rest, while mechanical keyboards with tall keys suit a higher one. Measure the keyboard height at the space bar before you buy.
Filling and cover. Most wrist rests use gel or memory foam. Gel is softer and moulds to the wrist, while foam is often firmer. Choose a cover you can wipe with a damp cloth, because it will be in contact with your skin all day.
Length and base. The rest should match the width of the keyboard: a full-size keyboard with a number pad needs a longer rest, while a keyboard without one is fine with a shorter model. A rubber non-slip base stops the rest from creeping across the desk.
How you use it. A wrist rest is meant for resting your wrists during short pauses, not for pressing down on while typing. Your hands should move freely over the keys rather than lean on the rest.

Wrist rest FAQ
What is a wrist rest for?
A wrist rest is for people who work at a computer for long periods and feel strain in their wrists. It keeps the wrist in a straighter position and reduces pressure against the edge of the desk. It helps most when the desk is higher than a comfortable keyboard level.
Does a wrist rest help with wrist pain?
A wrist rest can reduce pressure and help you keep a good posture, but it is not a treatment. If pain, numbness or tingling does not go away, see a doctor. Regular breaks and a properly adjusted chair and desk matter just as much.
How high should a keyboard wrist rest be?
The rest should be level with the front edge of the keyboard or slightly lower. That way your wrist is not bent up or down. Low-profile keyboards usually pair with lower rests, and mechanical keyboards with higher ones.
How do I clean a gel wrist rest?
Wipe a gel wrist rest regularly with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent. Keep sharp objects away so the cover is not punctured, and avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or next to a heater. This helps it keep its shape for longer.
