Gaming mice

Gaming mice are wired and wireless mice built for PC games, with more accurate sensors, extra buttons and faster signal transmission than ordinary office mice. Our range includes over 650 models, among them Logitech, Razer, ASUS, Endgame Gear, A4Tech and Trust. They suit newcomers as well as esports players.

How to choose a gaming mouse

Wired or wireless. A wired mouse has no battery and does not rely on a radio link, which is why it is popular in competitive play. Many wired models in our range have a 1.8 m or 2 m cable. Wireless mice connect through a USB receiver (RF), some also via Bluetooth, and a number work on batteries or by cable. Modern wireless gaming models usually show no noticeable lag, but you need to keep them charged or fitted with batteries.

Shape and handedness. Our range has ergonomic right-handed models and symmetrical ones that work for either hand, which matters for left-handed players. Consider your hand size and grip style: palm, claw or fingertip. A mouse that is too large or too small tires the wrist over a long session.

Sensor and DPI. Nearly all the gaming mice in our range use an optical sensor, with only a few laser models. DPI values run from 3200 up to 42000, but you do not need to chase the biggest number: most players use a few hundred to a few thousand DPI. Sensor quality matters more than the figure, since a good sensor does not jitter or lose tracking during fast flicks.

Buttons. Six buttons is the most common layout: left, right, wheel click and a few on the side. Seven or eight buttons help in MMOs and strategy games, where many shortcuts are useful. Shooters often need fewer buttons and a lighter mouse.

Weight. A lighter mouse is easier to move quickly, which is why many shooter players prefer one. A heavier mouse moves more calmly, and some people find aiming more precise with it. Check the stated weight, especially on wireless models, where the battery adds to it.

Gaming mouse brands

  • Logitech: the G series for gaming and Lightspeed wireless technology, which is regarded as one of the fastest on the market.
  • Razer: known for the DeathAdder and Viper lines, which esports players often choose.
  • ASUS: its gaming mice carry the ROG (Republic of Gamers) name and pair naturally with ASUS motherboards and laptops.
  • Endgame Gear: a company focused on gaming mice alone, with models aimed at competitive play.
  • A4Tech: its Bloody gaming line offers programmable buttons and adjustable settings.
  • Trust: the GXT gaming range offers simpler models for newcomers.

Also in our range: White Shark, Defender, Baracuda, Cherry, Tracer and Genesis.

Frequently asked questions

How much DPI does a gaming mouse need?

Most players are comfortable with 800 to 3200 DPI, since in-game settings are usually far below a mouse's maximum. Higher DPI helps on large or multi-monitor setups. Sensor accuracy matters more than the headline figure.

Is a wireless gaming mouse good enough for shooters?

Yes, modern wireless gaming mice using an RF link through a USB receiver respond so quickly that most players notice no difference. Bluetooth is usually slower, so RF is the better choice for games. You just need to keep the mouse charged.

How does a gaming mouse differ from a normal mouse?

A gaming mouse has a more accurate sensor, faster signal transmission and usually more programmable buttons. You can often change the DPI and assign button functions in software. Office mice typically lack these features.

How many buttons should a gaming mouse have?

Six buttons suit most games. MMOs and strategy games are easier with seven or eight, since you can assign more shortcuts. Shooters often need only five or six.
