Professional & colour-accurate monitors

Professional & colour-accurate monitors

This category covers monitors for photo and video editing, graphic design, CAD and print preparation, where accurate colour matters most. Our range of over 140 models includes IPS and OLED displays from ASUS, EIZO, Samsung, Apple and BenQ, with screen sizes from roughly 24 to 37 inches.

How to choose a professional monitor

Panel and colour coverage. Most monitors in our range use IPS panels, which keep colour and contrast consistent even when viewed from the side. A few OLED and VA models are also available. Compare the stated sRGB, Adobe RGB or DCI-P3 coverage with your work: sRGB is usually enough for web and photos, print often calls for Adobe RGB, and video work for DCI-P3. If colour is critical, choose a model with factory or hardware calibration.

Size and resolution. Our range includes many 27-inch models, and 4K (3840 x 2160) is one of the most common resolutions: at that size, text and fine detail look very sharp. Quad HD (2560 x 1440) suits 24 and 27-inch screens, while 5K (5120 x 2880) is the choice if you want finer detail still. For video editing, a 32-inch or larger screen is more comfortable.

Aspect ratio. Most screens are 16:9, but a 16:10 ratio (for example 1920 x 1200) gives extra vertical space, which helps in design and editing software. Ultrawide 21:9 and 32:9 screens let you keep a timeline and several windows side by side without a second monitor.

Connections. A USB-C port with power delivery lets one cable carry video to the monitor and charge your laptop. Check for DisplayPort and HDMI as well, and whether the monitor has a USB hub for a keyboard, card reader or external drive.

Refresh rate. Most monitors for creative work run at 60 Hz, which is enough for photo editing, design and most video work. Some models reach 100 or 120 Hz, and a couple go up to 240 Hz if you also want to use the screen for gaming.

Frequently asked questions

How does a professional monitor differ from a regular one?

A professional monitor reproduces colour more accurately and across a wider range, and its backlight is more even across the screen. Many models are calibrated at the factory or support hardware calibration. They usually also have a more adjustable stand and more connections.

What size monitor is best for photo and video editing?

A 27-inch 4K monitor suits most creators, as it fits both your tools and a large enough preview. If your desk is small, a 24-inch model is a sensible option, and video editors often prefer a 32-inch screen.

Is a 60 Hz refresh rate enough for professional work?

Yes, 60 Hz is enough for photo editing, design and most video editing. A higher rate such as 120 Hz only helps if you want smoother motion in games or fast-scrolling content.

Which colour space should a design monitor cover?

For web graphics and photos, near-full sRGB coverage is usually enough. If you prepare work for print, look for high Adobe RGB coverage, and for video work DCI-P3 is the key figure. The coverage values stated by the manufacturer show best whether a monitor fits your workflow.
