The laptop and tablet stands category contains stands for notebooks and tablets, aimed at anyone who works at a desk and wants to raise the screen or free up space. Our range has over 60 models, including NEOMOUNTS, AXAGON, LogiLink, Bakker Elkhuizen and StarTech.com.
Some stands hold a fixed angle, while others let you change the height, so it helps to know how you will use the device before you choose.
How to choose a laptop or tablet stand
Screen size. Check the largest screen diagonal the stand supports. Our range includes models for devices from 15 to 22 inches, and quite a few are designed for up to 17.3 inches. If you have a large gaming or workstation laptop, check this limit first.
Weight capacity. A thin laptop usually weighs 1 to 2 kg, while a larger gaming model can weigh a good deal more. Our range includes stands rated from 3 to 20 kg, with 5 kg a common limit. Choose one with some margin so the stand does not flex or wobble.
Height and angle adjustment. The most comfortable position is with the top edge of the screen at eye level. Many of our stands have adjustable height, which helps if you work for long periods. Once the laptop is raised, you will need a separate keyboard and mouse.
Material and stability. Most stands are made of aluminium, and there are also steel, plastic and ABS models. Aluminium and steel give rigidity, while an open design lets air circulate under the computer. Rubber or silicone pads stop the device from sliding.
Where you will use it. If the stand travels with you, choose a light, foldable model. A permanent desk setup suits a heavier, more stable stand, while for a tablet the angle for reading or video calls matters most.

Frequently asked questions
Does a laptop stand help with cooling?
Often yes, because a raised laptop has more space for air under the body. Open aluminium designs help most. A stand is not an active cooler, so for a heavily loaded computer it only eases the heat a little.
How high should a laptop screen be?
The top of the screen should be roughly at eye level so you do not have to bend your neck. If the stand does not adjust in height, make sure its height suits your desk and chair. When the screen is raised, use an external keyboard and mouse.
Can the same stand hold both a laptop and a tablet?
Some stands are designed for both, but not all of them. Tablet stands often have a narrower support, while laptops need a wider surface and a higher weight rating. Check the supported screen size and maximum weight before you buy.
What weight capacity does a laptop stand need?
For most laptops 5 kg is enough, as they weigh considerably less. Look for a higher rating if you have a heavy gaming laptop or place extra items on the stand. A margin helps the stand stay stable.
