How to choose a floor stand or trolley
Weight and screen size. Compare the stand's maximum load and largest supported screen size with your display's specifications. Leave a small margin, because accessories such as a soundbar or camera add weight.
VESA mounting. The VESA pattern on the back of your screen (for example 200x200 or 400x400 mm) must match the stand's mounting plate. Larger televisions often need a wider plate, and some stands have adjustable brackets that fit several patterns.
Mobility. A trolley with lockable wheels lets you move a screen between rooms, which is why they are common in classrooms, meeting rooms and shops. For a home or a permanent desk setup, a fixed stand is usually steadier.
Height and angle. Choose a model where the height can be changed and the screen tilted or swivelled. The top of the screen should sit roughly at eye level, which matters most for monitors used at a desk.
Stability and cables. A wide, heavy base reduces wobble and the risk of tipping, especially with large televisions. Cable management hides power and video cables, and a shelf is useful for a media player, camera or video conferencing equipment.
