Gaming monitors

Gaming monitors are made for players who want smooth motion and quick response, from newcomers to competitive gamers. Our range includes over 900 models: Full HD, QHD and 4K, flat, curved and ultrawide screens. You will find monitors from MSI, ASUS, Acer, AOC, GIGABYTE and Samsung.

How to choose a gaming monitor

Resolution. Most of our range is Full HD (1920 x 1080) or QHD (2560 x 1440), with 4K (3840 x 2160) and ultrawide options such as 3440 x 1440 and 5120 x 1440 as well. The higher the resolution, the harder your graphics card has to work, so choose according to your PC. For many people, QHD on a 27-inch screen is a sensible balance between sharpness and frame rate.

Refresh rate and response time. Refresh rate is measured in hertz: 60 Hz is typical of ordinary office monitors, gaming usually starts at 144 Hz, and fast competitive shooters are worth pairing with 240 Hz or more. A high refresh rate only helps if your graphics card can deliver enough frames per second. A low response time, such as 1 ms, reduces trailing behind moving objects.

Panel type. IPS panels (including Fast IPS and Rapid IPS) give accurate colours and wide viewing angles. VA panels offer deeper blacks and higher contrast, while OLED combines very fast response with perfect black, though you should avoid leaving static elements on screen for long periods because of burn-in.

Format and curvature. Most screens are 16:9, but 21:9 and 32:9 are available too. Curved ultrawide monitors give a wider field of view for racing and simulation games, though not every game supports these formats properly.

Connections and mounting. Most models in our range have two HDMI ports, while a PC often works better over DisplayPort. For a console, look for HDMI 2.1, as the version determines the maximum refresh rate at 4K. Most monitors use a 100 x 100 mm mounting pattern, so fitting a stand or monitor arm is usually straightforward.

Frequently asked questions

What refresh rate should a gaming monitor have?

For most players, 144 Hz or 165 Hz is enough. For fast competitive games, 240 Hz or more is worth considering if your PC can produce that many frames. If you play slower or story-driven games, a very high refresh rate will bring less benefit.

Is a 4K gaming monitor worth it?

A 4K monitor is worth it if you have a powerful graphics card and play on a larger screen. The image is sharper, but you will get fewer frames per second than at QHD. If smoothness matters more to you, QHD is often the more practical choice.

What is the difference between IPS, VA and OLED gaming monitors?

IPS offers accurate colours and wide viewing angles, VA has higher contrast, and OLED gives the deepest black and the fastest response. OLED needs some care with static images, as they can cause burn-in over time.

Can I connect a gaming monitor to a console?

Yes, a gaming monitor can be connected to a console over HDMI. To play at 4K and 120 Hz, the monitor needs HDMI 2.1. Check the port specification before buying.
