Wired headphones connect by cable to a phone, computer, TV or other device. This category covers headband models, in-ear earphones and headsets with a microphone for calls. Our range holds over 400 models, including KOSS, SONY, SANDBERG, JVC and other manufacturers.
How to choose wired headphones
Wearing style. Headband models are the most common in our range, but there are plenty of in-ear ones too. Headband designs are more comfortable for long listening and calls, while in-ear models fit in a pocket and suit travel. You will also find rarer ear-hook and neckband versions.
Ear coupling. Headphones either rest on the ear, surround it or sit inside it. All three types are available in our range. Over-ear (circumaural) models block more outside noise but are larger and warmer, while on-ear models are lighter.
Microphone. The most common types are an in-line microphone on the cable and a boom microphone near the mouth. A boom microphone picks up your voice more clearly, so it is worth choosing for remote work and gaming. If you only need headphones for music or TV, a model without a microphone is enough, and we stock those as well.
Impedance. Many headphones in our range are rated at 32 Ω, with 16 Ω and 24 Ω models also available. Phones, laptops and music players drive these without trouble. Very high impedance headphones need a stronger amplifier, so they are usually too demanding for a phone output.
Connector and purpose. Check that your device has a 3.5 mm socket first: some phones and thin laptops do not, and then you will need an adapter. By purpose, our range includes headphones for calls and music, office and call centre work, gaming and TV.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between wired and wireless headphones?
Wired headphones take power and sound through the cable, so they never need charging and do not have to be paired. There is also no risk of the connection dropping. The trade-off is that the cable limits how freely you can move.
What impedance should I choose for a phone?
Headphones rated at roughly 16 to 32 Ω suit a phone, because even a weak output can drive them to a good volume. Models like this are available in our range. High impedance headphones usually need a separate headphone amplifier.
Are wired headphones good for gaming?
Yes, and for gaming it is best to choose a model with a boom microphone, since it carries your voice more clearly. Some headphones in our range are listed as intended for gaming. Before buying, check that the cable connector matches the socket on your computer or console.
How do I connect wired headphones to a phone without a 3.5 mm socket?
You need a USB-C (or Lightning) to 3.5 mm adapter, or headphones with the right connector. The adapter is usually small and plugs straight into the phone. Check which port your phone has before you buy.
