This category covers intercoms and door stations: IP and SIP door units, video intercoms and indoor monitors for homes, offices and apartment buildings. The leading brands are 2N, Hikvision, Dahua and Honeywell. Our range has over 120 products, from simple door buttons to systems with access control.
How to choose an intercom or door station
System type. IP and SIP door stations connect to your network, so you can answer the call on a phone, a computer or an office IP phone. An analogue system is simpler but harder to expand, and for several entrances or an apartment building an IP solution is usually the better fit.
Picture and sound. On a video door station, look at camera resolution, field of view and lighting in the dark. If the door opens onto an unlit yard, choose a model with infrared or white illumination. Noise reduction matters for sound, because wind and street noise make conversation difficult.
Opening the door and access control. Check that the station has a relay to control an electric lock and that it suits your lock. For an office or apartment block, a card reader or PIN keypad is useful. Many IP models can be powered over PoE, so a single network cable is enough.
Durability and looks. An outdoor unit needs protection against moisture and dust (IP rating), resistance to impact (IK rating) and an operating temperature range that copes with a cold winter. Where colour is listed in our range, there are black, white and grey models, so the station can be matched to the door or facade.

Frequently asked questions about intercoms and door stations
What is the difference between an IP and an analogue intercom?
An IP intercom works over a computer network and connects with an ordinary network cable, while an analogue one is wired to the indoor unit with dedicated cables. An IP system is easier to expand, and the call can be sent to a phone or an app. An analogue system is simpler and is enough for a single house with one entrance.
Can I answer the intercom on my phone?
Yes, if the door station supports SIP or comes with a manufacturer app. SIP models connect to IP phones and phone systems, while smart units are controlled through an app. Before buying, check that the call reaches your phone over the internet and not only on the local network.
What is PoE and does a door station need it?
PoE powers a device through the same network cable that carries its data. Many IP door stations support PoE, so no separate power cable is needed at the door. You will need a PoE switch or a separate PoE injector.
Does a video door station work at night?
Most video door stations have infrared or white lighting, so a visitor can be seen in the dark. Picture quality depends on the camera sensor and lens, and the field of view decides whether you see the whole approach to the door. Check the lighting type and viewing angle in the specification.
