Our money counting equipment category covers banknote counters, counterfeit detectors and related cash-handling equipment for shops, cafés, offices and small businesses. Most of the products come from Safescan and Olympia, and there is also point-of-sale equipment from Epson.
With over 100 models, you can choose according to whether you mainly need to count cash quickly or to check that banknotes are genuine.
How to choose money counting equipment
Type of device. A banknote counter counts a stack of notes, while a counterfeit detector only checks notes one at a time. If you take a lot of cash every day, a counter with built-in checks saves time. At a till where cash payments are occasional, a simple detector is often enough.
Detection methods. The more security features a device checks, the harder it is to fool. Common sensors are ultraviolet (UV), magnetic (MG) and infrared (IR), and some models also measure the size of the note. A UV check on its own is no longer enough.
Speed and capacity. Look at how many notes per minute the counter handles and how many fit in the hopper. Counting larger sums every day calls for a faster model with a bigger hopper, while occasional use is fine with a simpler one. A model that totals the value of mixed denominations, not just the number of notes, is useful for many businesses.
Currencies and updates. Most Lithuanian businesses handle euros, but if you also accept other currencies, check which ones the model recognises. It is also worth asking whether the software can be updated, because a device that cannot be updated may stop recognising redesigned banknotes.
Where it will be used. At the till, a small footprint and quiet operation matter. In a back office, you can choose a larger and faster model. If you also need to count coins, look for separate coin counting equipment, as banknote counters do not handle them.

Frequently asked questions about money counting equipment
What is the difference between a banknote counter and a counterfeit detector?
A counter counts a stack of banknotes, while a detector checks whether a single note is genuine. Many counters also have built-in authenticity checks, but a basic detector does not count. If you need both, choose a counter with counterfeit detection.
Does a banknote counter detect fake notes?
Only if the model has the sensors for it, such as UV, magnetic or infrared. Basic counters simply count sheets and do not verify authenticity. Always check the product description to see which checks the device performs.
How fast does a counter need to be for a small business?
A medium-speed model is usually enough for a small shop or café, as the volume of cash is modest. A faster machine with a larger hopper makes sense if you handle several hundred notes every day. Reliable note recognition often matters more than raw speed.
Does money counting equipment work with currencies other than the euro?
Not all of it does. Some models recognise only euros, while others support several currencies, so check the listed currencies before buying. If you often accept foreign cash, choose a model that can be updated.
