Calculators in this category range from basic, scientific and financial models to printing calculators, for pupils, students, accountants and office staff. Our range includes over 300 calculators from brands such as CASIO, SHARP, MAUL and CANON, in both pocket and desktop sizes.
How to choose a calculator
Type. A basic calculator covers addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages. Scientific models add trigonometry, logarithms and statistics, which older pupils and university students need. Financial calculators are built for interest, loans and cash flow, while printing models produce a paper roll so you can check long sums afterwards. Before buying a scientific model, check whether it is allowed in your exam.
Number of digits. Most of the calculators in our range with a stated digit count have a 12-digit display, the usual choice for invoices and bookkeeping. Models with 8 or 10 digits are enough for everyday household sums. Displays with 14 or 16 digits help when you work with very large figures.
Power source. A calculator with a solar cell and a battery runs on light, with the battery as a backup, so the cell rarely needs replacing. Some models run on a battery alone, and some printing models connect to the mains. Our range includes LR44, AAA and CR2032 cells among others, so check that you can easily buy the type your model uses.
Size and form. Desktop calculators have larger keys and displays, which makes entering many numbers quicker and more comfortable. Pocket models fit in a school bag or pencil case. We stock both.

Calculator FAQ
What is the difference between a scientific and a basic calculator?
A scientific calculator has functions a basic one lacks, such as trigonometry, logarithms, powers, roots and statistics. It can also evaluate a whole expression rather than one step at a time. A basic model is enough for everyday sums and for younger pupils.
How many digits should an accountant's calculator have?
For bookkeeping and invoices, a 12-digit calculator is the usual choice. That display is wide enough for large sums with cents. A desktop model with large keys is more comfortable here than a pocket one.
Which calculator should I buy for school?
A basic pocket model is enough for primary and early secondary years, while older pupils will need a scientific one. Ask the teacher or check the exam rules before buying, because some exams allow only certain models.
Is a solar calculator better than a battery-only one?
A solar calculator with a battery backup is usually more convenient, because the display runs on light and the battery is used less. Battery-only models tend to be simpler, but the cell needs replacing more often. If you mostly work in a dim room, choose a model with a battery.
