Kids smartwatches

Kids smartwatches

Children's smartwatches are made for younger and older kids whose parents want them to be able to call, send messages and be located without a full smartphone. Our range includes over 30 models, among them IMOO, CANYON, ANIO, STELIO and GARMIN.

The watches differ in how they connect, screen size, extra features and how they are managed from a parent's phone.

How to choose a children's smartwatch

Connectivity. Most children's watches make calls through a SIM card, so they need a mobile plan and 4G support on your operator's network. Models without a SIM work only over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth: they cost less to run, but the child cannot be reached outside home or school Wi-Fi. Before buying, check that the watch supports the network bands used in Lithuania.

Location tracking. GPS shows the child's position on a map and lets you set safe zones such as home or school. Indoors the position is often worked out from Wi-Fi or mobile masts, so it is less precise inside a building than outdoors.

App and privacy. The watch is managed through a parent app, so check that it runs on your phone's system (Android or iOS) and whether it is available in your language. Choose a model where you decide who can call the child and unknown numbers are blocked.

Battery and durability. With GPS in constant use, a watch battery often lasts only a day or two, so daily charging may be needed. A younger child is better off with water and dust protection and a soft silicone strap. Cameras, video calls and games appeal to older children, but they drain the battery faster and can distract during lessons.

Frequently asked questions

Does a children's smartwatch need a SIM card?

Not always, but you need one to make calls outside Wi-Fi range. Models without a SIM work only over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, while a watch with a SIM calls and sends its location much like a basic phone. You will need a mobile plan, and a small data allowance is usually enough.

What age is a smartwatch suitable for?

Usually from around 5 or 6 years old, when a child can use the buttons and knows who they are allowed to call. Each manufacturer states its own recommended age. Older children tend to prefer models with a camera and a wider set of features.

Is a children's smartwatch accurate at showing location?

Outdoors, GPS is generally fairly accurate, while indoors accuracy drops. Location updates arrive at set intervals, so the position on the map can lag slightly behind. The safe zone feature alerts parents when the child leaves a chosen area.

How long does a children's smartwatch battery last?

With GPS, most watches last roughly one to two days on a charge. Battery life depends on calls, video features and how often the location is refreshed. If a child wears the watch every day, charging it each evening is the simplest routine.
