Charging and USB cables

This category covers charging and data cables for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. Our range includes over 15 models, mostly from XQISIT, realme, PEDEA, Samsung and Anker.

You can choose a cable for everyday charging at home, a spare for travelling or one for the car.

How to choose a charging cable

Connector. Both ends of the cable must match your phone and your charger. Most modern Android phones have a USB-C port, older ones may use micro-USB, and earlier iPhone generations use Lightning. Check the charger socket too: USB-A or USB-C.

Charging power. Fast charging only works when the phone, the charger and the cable all support it. Most USB-C cables are rated up to 60 W, while higher power (for a laptop, for example) needs a cable with a special chip, rated up to 100 W. The manufacturer states the rating on the packaging or in the product description.

Data transfer. The simplest cables may charge well but move data slowly: USB 2.0 tops out at 480 Mbps. If you often copy photos and videos or connect your phone to a monitor, choose a cable with a clearly stated data speed.

Length. A one-metre cable is enough at a wall socket or computer. Two metres is more comfortable by the bed or sofa, and a short cable of about 0.2 m suits use with a power bank. Very long, thin cables can charge more slowly.

Durability. The area next to the connector wears out first. A braided nylon sleeve, reinforced ends and a flexible outer coating extend the life of a cable that you bend often or carry in a bag.

Frequently asked questions

Which cable fits my phone?

The right cable is the one whose connector matches your phone's port. Most newer Android phones use USB-C, while earlier iPhone generations use Lightning. You will find the port on the bottom of the phone, and the product specification usually states the connector type.

Do all USB-C cables support fast charging?

No, they do not. Fast charging needs the cable, the charger and the phone to support the same power level. If the cable is rated for lower power, the phone will charge more slowly even with a strong charger.

Why is my phone charging slowly?

The usual causes are a weak charger, limits in a thin cable or a worn cable. Try another cable and a charger that states the power your phone supports. A dirty charging port can also be the cause.

What cable length should I choose?

A one-metre cable suits most people. If you charge your phone in bed or the socket is far from where you sit, choose two metres. A short cable is handier in the car and with a power bank.
