How to choose a holder, stand or tripod
Compatibility. Check your device model, screen size and thickness including any case, because a tablet holder with adjustable clamps does not fit every size. For monitor and TV mounts, the VESA hole pattern on the back panel matters. Car mounts are often made for one specific phone or tablet model.
Mounting location. A desk stand or clamp needs no drilling, while a wall mount frees up desk space but requires a suitable wall. In a car, find out whether the holder attaches to the dashboard, an air vent or a dedicated bracket. Tripods are meant for mobile use, such as filming or video calls.
Adjustability. Rotation, tilt and height decide whether a screen is comfortable to work with for hours. For a tripod, look at the extended height, the folded length and how stable the legs are, especially with a heavier phone or tablet on top.
Load capacity. Choose with some margin, because the permitted weight must cover the case, keyboard or attached scanner. A thin plastic stand suits a light phone, whereas a monitor arm needs a metal construction.
Theft protection. If a tablet sits in a shop, reception area or classroom, choose a stand or enclosure with a lock. COMPULOCKS offers such solutions in our range.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a holder will fit my tablet?
Compare the height, width and thickness of your tablet with the size range stated for the holder. Measure the thickness with the case on if you use one. If the holder is made for a specific model, it is enough to check that your model is on the manufacturer's list.
What does VESA mean on a monitor mount?
VESA is a standard layout of mounting holes on the back of a monitor or TV, measured in millimetres, for example 75 × 75 or 100 × 100. A mount fits if its VESA size matches the screen. Also check that the screen's weight does not exceed the mount's load rating.
Is a universal or a model-specific car holder better?
A universal holder fits several devices and is easy to move from one car to another. A model-specific holder, such as those made by BRODIT, usually sits more firmly and can make better use of the phone's ports or charging contacts. If you change devices often, the universal type is more practical.
How can I stop a tablet being stolen in a shop or office?
Use a stand or enclosure with a lock that fixes the tablet to a desk, wall or floor. COMPULOCKS makes solutions of this kind. When choosing, check that the enclosure leaves the buttons, cameras and charging port accessible.
