How to choose a phone case
Compatibility. A case is made for one specific model, so the camera cut-out, buttons and charging port have to line up exactly. Most cases in our range are for Apple phones, there are also Samsung models, and a few cases are universal. Check the exact model name of your phone, because even neighbouring generations can differ in size.
Case type. A cover wraps the back and edges, stays slim and slips easily into a pocket. A folio case also covers the screen, and a wallet-style case lets you carry a bank card without a separate wallet. Sleeve cases protect a phone inside a bag, but the phone has to be taken out before use.
Material. Most cases in our range are made from TPU, a soft, flexible polymer that absorbs knocks and is easy to fit. There are also silicone, plastic and polycarbonate cases, plus models finished in microfibre, velvet or polyester that feel nicer in the hand. Some transparent cases may turn yellow over time.
Protection. Look for shock and scratch resistance in the product details: these are listed for most cases that have protection data. Raised edges around the screen and camera matter too, because they keep the glass off the surface when the phone lies face down.
Charging and magnets. A thin case usually does not get in the way of wireless charging, while a thick one or one with a metal part may. If you use MagSafe chargers or mounts, choose a case that clearly states magnet compatibility.

Which case protects a phone best from drops?
The best drop protection comes from a case made of shock-absorbing material such as TPU, with raised edges around the screen and camera. A thicker case usually protects better than a thin one, but it adds bulk to the phone. Look for shock or drop resistance in the product description.
Do transparent cases turn yellow?
Some transparent cases can turn yellow over time, especially if they spend long periods in sunlight. It depends on the material and how it is treated. The yellowing is easiest to notice on white and light-coloured phones.
Does a case affect wireless charging?
A thin plastic, silicone or TPU case usually does not interfere with wireless charging. A thick case, or one with a metal plate or card slot, can weaken the connection to the charger. If you use a magnetic charger, choose a case that states magnet compatibility.
How do I know which case fits my phone?
You need the exact model name of your phone, such as the specific iPhone or Samsung Galaxy number. You can find it in the About section of the phone settings. Buy a case only when its description names that model, because camera cut-outs and dimensions differ between models.
