The USB hubs and adapters category covers accessories that let you connect more equipment to a phone, tablet or laptop, or match up different connector types. Our range includes over 10 models, among them products from Chipolo, Anker, UGREEN, Huawei and Canyon.
It suits anyone who regularly runs out of ports or needs to plug older USB devices into newer ones.
How to choose a USB hub or adapter
Connector type. Start by checking which port your device has. Our range includes products with USB and USB Type-C host interfaces, and most newer phones and thin laptops use USB-C.
USB standard and speed. USB 2.0 is enough for a mouse or keyboard, but an external drive or card reader is better served by USB 3.0 or newer, which transfers data several times faster. All devices on a hub share its total bandwidth.
Power. A hub without external power draws energy from the phone or computer, so a power-hungry device such as an external hard drive may not get enough. In that case choose a model that lets you connect a separate charger.
Port layout. A simple adapter converts one connector shape into another, while a multiport hub may add several USB ports, an HDMI output or a card reader. Choose by what you will actually plug in, and do not pay for ports you will not use.
Product type. The category also holds other mobile accessories, so read the description before buying: some items may not be hubs at all, but Bluetooth item trackers, for example.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a USB hub and a USB adapter?
A USB hub increases the number of ports, so one socket can serve several devices. An adapter only changes the connector type, for example from USB-A to USB-C, and adds no new ports. Some multiport models do both jobs.
Can I connect a USB hub to a phone?
Yes, as long as the phone supports external devices. Many Android phones with a USB-C port support this through OTG, and the iPhone 15 and later models also have a USB-C port. Check the manufacturer's specifications to see whether external drives and other equipment are supported.
Does a USB hub slow down data transfer?
It can, if several fast devices are used at the same time, because they share the hub's bandwidth. The slowest link in the chain also sets the limit: a USB 2.0 hub will not deliver USB 3.0 speeds. For a single drive or card reader, a USB 3.0 model is perfectly adequate.
Can I connect an older USB-A device to a USB-C port?
Yes, you need a USB-C to USB-A adapter or a hub with USB-A sockets. Transfer speed depends on the USB standard supported by both the adapter and the device itself. When connecting an external drive, also check that there is enough power.
