Stick vacuum cleaners are cordless, lightweight cleaners for everyday upkeep of a flat or house. Our range has over 200 models: mostly 2-in-1 stick vacuums with a detachable handheld unit, plus a few upright vacuums and electric mops. You will find Dyson, Rowenta, Dreame, Bosch and Philips among the brands.
How to choose a stick vacuum cleaner
Runtime and battery. Most stick vacuums in our range run on a battery, with listed runtimes from 30 to 90 minutes. A small flat may need only 30 or 40 minutes, while a home with several rooms is better served by 60 minutes or more, because the strongest mode drains the battery faster. Charging takes roughly 3 to 6 hours.
Type and attachments. The handheld unit of a 2-in-1 model detaches for sofas, shelves, car interiors and stairs. If your floors are mostly hard, consider an electric mop that vacuums and wipes in one pass. With carpets, the brush head and suction strength matter more. Our range also includes a few electric mops and one mains-powered upright vacuum.
Dirt separation and filtration. A cyclonic system separates dust from the airflow, so suction drops less as the bin fills. Our range includes cyclonic, filtering and combined systems, as well as multi-cyclone designs. If anyone at home is sensitive to dust, look for multi-stage filtration and filters that are easy to remove and clean.
Noise and weight. Listed noise levels in our range run from 80 to 87 dB. If you live with thin walls or vacuum while a child sleeps, choose a quieter model. You hold a stick vacuum throughout the job, so a heavier model tires you sooner, especially on stairs.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a cordless stick vacuum run on one charge?
Usually between half an hour and an hour and a half. Listed runtimes in our range go from 30 to 90 minutes, but figures like these normally apply to lower power settings. In the strongest mode or with a motorised brush, the battery runs down faster.
What is the difference between a 2-in-1 and a standard stick vacuum?
The handheld unit of a 2-in-1 model detaches from the tube and works on its own. It is handy for sofas, shelves, car interiors and stairs. A standard stick vacuum stays in one form, so it is often simpler.
Can a cordless stick vacuum replace a traditional vacuum cleaner?
For everyday cleaning of a flat it usually can, but not in every case. Battery runtime and a small dust bin limit how much you can clean in a large house. For a small or medium-sized home, a stick vacuum is normally enough.
How do I look after the filter of a stick vacuum?
Check the manufacturer's instructions first, as it depends on the model. Many filters can be rinsed with water and dried thoroughly, while others need replacing. Emptying the dust bin after each clean is worthwhile, since a full bin reduces suction.
