Subwoofers add the deep bass that main speakers often lack, for home cinema systems, stereo setups and professional sound. Our range includes active and passive models, with brands such as Sony, NEXO, Yamaha and JVC.
You will find models suited to a living room as well as solutions for larger venues.
How to choose a subwoofer
Active or passive. An active subwoofer has a built-in amplifier and connects to the subwoofer output of a receiver or soundbar. A passive one needs a separate amplifier, so it is more common in professional and installation setups. Our range includes both types.
Power. Look at the RMS power rather than the short-term peak figure. Our range includes models from 150 to 300 W RMS: a smaller room needs less, while a large space or loud music calls for more. With a passive model, the amplifier must match its power and impedance.
Driver size. A larger driver generally reaches deeper and plays louder, while a smaller one responds faster and takes up less space. In our range you will find drivers of 16, 18 and 30 cm.
Connections and power supply. Check whether your receiver or soundbar has a subwoofer output, or whether you will need high-level inputs. Some active models list a mains voltage of 220-240 V, others 100-240 V, and standby consumption is given as 0.5 to 1 W.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an active and a passive subwoofer?
An active subwoofer has its own amplifier, so it only needs a connection to your receiver or soundbar and a power socket. A passive one has no amplifier, which you must buy separately. Active models are the usual choice for homes, while passive ones are more common in professional audio.
How powerful should a home subwoofer be?
For a living room, 100 to 200 W RMS is often enough. A larger room or louder listening calls for a more powerful model. Driver size and room dimensions matter as much as the power figure.
Can I connect a subwoofer to a soundbar?
Yes, if the soundbar has a subwoofer output or a wireless link to a subwoofer. Many wireless systems work only with a subwoofer from the same manufacturer, so check compatibility before buying. A passive subwoofer cannot be connected to a soundbar without an amplifier.
Where should I place a subwoofer in a room?
The front of the room, close to a wall or in a corner, usually gives stronger bass. Try a few positions and keep the one where the bass sounds most even, without boominess. Do not cover the subwoofer with furniture.
