Soundbars

This category has over 190 soundbars for improving the sound of a TV, computer or music: simple 2.0 models, sets with a subwoofer and surround systems with upward-firing channels. The range includes SAMSUNG, LG, JBL, SONY and other manufacturers.

How to choose a soundbar

Channel layout. The numbers describe the speaker arrangement: 2.0 is two channels without a subwoofer, 3.1 adds a centre channel for dialogue and a subwoofer, while 5.1.2 and 3.1.2 add channels aimed at the ceiling. Our range includes all of these. A 2.1 or 3.1 model is often enough for a small living room, while a larger space benefits from more channels.

Subwoofer. Many of our soundbars come with a separate subwoofer, which gives films and music deeper bass. If you live in a flat with thin walls or prefer fewer boxes, choose a model without one or with a built-in subwoofer.

HDMI and other connections. Models with one or two HDMI ports are the most common in our range, and some have three or four. Some soundbars have no HDMI port at all, so they have to be connected to the TV with a different cable. If your TV has an HDMI ARC or eARC port, a single cable is enough and you can adjust the volume with the TV remote.

Wireless connection. Most models support Bluetooth, so you can play music from a phone without cables. Our range covers Bluetooth versions from 4.2 to 5.4. Newer versions generally pair faster and more reliably, though for everyday music and calls the difference is often small.

Size and compatibility. The soundbar should fit under the TV or in front of it without blocking the remote sensor. If you own a TV from the same manufacturer, some models can work together with the TV speakers.

Brands we carry

  • SAMSUNG: the largest selection from a single manufacturer in our range, and some models are designed to work together with Samsung TVs.
  • LG: soundbars built to pair with LG TVs, usually with an HDMI eARC port.
  • JBL: a well-known audio manufacturer whose soundbars often come with a wireless subwoofer.
  • SONY: offers surround systems with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support.
  • DELL: mainly a computer and monitor maker, with soundbars intended for use with a PC.
  • SHARP and TCL: TV manufacturers offering soundbars to improve television sound.

Also in our range: ULTIMEA, TRUST, KINDERMANN, XIAOMI and DENVER.

Frequently asked questions

Does a soundbar need a separate subwoofer?

Not necessarily, but bass sounds noticeably deeper with one. Soundbars without a separate subwoofer handle speech and music well, while sets with one reproduce explosions and low tones in films better. Our range includes both types.

How do I connect a soundbar to a TV?

The simplest way is an HDMI ARC or eARC cable, because sound and control then travel over one lead. If the soundbar or TV has no HDMI port, another wired connection is used, and some models can also pair over Bluetooth. Check the ports on both devices before buying.

What do 2.1, 3.1.2 and 5.1.2 mean?

The first number is the main channels, the second is the subwoofer and the third is the upward-firing channels. For example, 5.1.2 means five main channels, one subwoofer and two height channels. More channels create a wider sound, but it is best heard in a small or medium-sized room.

Can I use a soundbar with a computer or phone?

Yes, as long as it has the right connection. A phone or laptop can connect over Bluetooth, while a desktop computer can use a cable. Our range includes wired, wireless and models that support both.
