Portable speakers

Portable speakers

Portable speakers with built-in batteries: mono and stereo models, party speakers and 2.1 systems for music at home, on trips, at the beach or while camping. Our range has over 500 models, including JBL, Anker, Sony, Logitech and Blaupunkt.

How to choose a portable speaker

Speaker type. A mono speaker with a single driver takes up little space and fits in a rucksack, which suits travelling. Stereo models play the left and right channels separately, while party speakers are built for loud music in a larger group. Our range includes mono, stereo and party speakers as well as 2.1 systems with a separate bass speaker.

Water and dust protection. The first digit of an IP code rates dust protection and the second rates water resistance. IPX4 only withstands splashes, so it suits a terrace or kitchen, while a pool or beach calls for IP67, IP68 or IPX7. Our range includes all of these ratings, as well as IPX5 and IP66.

Battery life. The manufacturer's figure is measured at medium volume, and the battery drains faster near maximum. In our range you will find models from 5 to 24 hours, and many speakers run for about 12 or 14 hours. That is enough for a day out, but for a multi-day hike look for 20 hours or more.

Connectivity. Almost all of our speakers connect over Bluetooth, so a phone or tablet pairs without cables. Some models also have a wired input, which helps when a device lacks Bluetooth or when you want to avoid audio delay, for example while watching a film.

Brands we carry

  • JBL and JBL Harman: known for the Flip, Charge and Clip series, which are popular choices for travel.
  • Anker: sells its audio products under the Soundcore name, and its speakers are often praised for battery life.
  • Sony: the Japanese manufacturer makes the SRS series, which includes models with boosted bass.
  • Logitech: best known for computer peripherals and PC speakers, so its speakers are often used with a computer.
  • Blaupunkt: a German brand whose name has long been linked with car audio systems.

Also in our range: MANTA, KODAK, DENVER, TRACER, MUSE and BOOMPODS.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between IP67 and IPX7?

IP67 means full protection against dust and resistance to brief immersion in water. IPX7 promises similar water resistance but says nothing about dust. If the speaker is going to a beach or a dusty place, IP67 or IP68 is the safer choice.

How many hours of battery life should a portable speaker have?

For a day out, 10 to 12 hours is enough, while a multi-day hike calls for 20 hours or more. The stated figure is measured at medium volume, so the speaker will last less at high volume. Our range includes models with up to 24 hours of battery life.

Can I connect a portable speaker to a TV or computer?

Yes, if the speaker has a wired input or the TV or computer supports Bluetooth. A cable is the simplest way, as the sound is not delayed. Our range includes models that connect both by cable and wirelessly.

Should I choose a mono or a stereo speaker?

A mono speaker is enough for speech, podcasts and background music in a small room. A stereo model gives a better sense of space in music because the left and right channels are played separately. If small size and low cost matter most, choose mono, and if you listen to a lot of music, consider a stereo model or a 2.1 system.
