Toothbrush heads are replacement heads for electric toothbrushes, covering both sonic and oscillating-rotating handles, for adults and families alike. Most of our range comes from Philips and Oral-B, with further heads from ETA and other makers, sold singly or in multi-packs.
How to choose electric toothbrush heads
Handle compatibility. Check your handle model first. A head has to fit the handle's attachment system, and heads from different makers are generally not interchangeable. Many heads in our range are listed as compatible with Philips handles and fewer with Oral-B, so compare your model number with the manufacturer's compatibility chart before ordering.
Head type. A standard cleaning head is enough for daily use. Whitening heads have a polishing cup or stain-removing bristle pattern, sensitive heads have softer bristles, and some heads are shaped for gum care or for cleaning around braces. Choose by your main concern rather than by the longest feature list.
Bristle stiffness. Our range includes medium, soft and extra soft heads. Soft or medium bristles suit most people, because the motor does the cleaning and there is no need to press hard. If your gums bleed easily or your teeth are sensitive, extra soft is worth considering, and a dentist can advise if you are unsure.
Pack size. Manufacturers generally recommend replacing a head about every three months, or sooner if the bristles splay. Packs in our range contain 2, 4, 5, 6 or 8 heads: a pack of four covers roughly a year for one person, while a larger pack makes more sense for a family using the same handle system.
Brands we carry
- Philips: known for Sonicare sonic toothbrushes, whose heads click onto the handle; it is the largest brand in this category in our range.
- Oral-B: known for round heads that oscillate and rotate, with bristles that clean one tooth at a time.
Also in our range: ETA, Zelmer, Xiaomi, Panasonic, Oromed and Waterpik.
Frequently asked questions about toothbrush heads
How often should I replace an electric toothbrush head?
Replace it about every three months. If the bristles splay, wear down or change colour sooner, change the head earlier. A worn head cleans less effectively and can irritate the gums.
Does an Oral-B head fit a Philips handle?
Usually not, because Oral-B and Philips use different attachment systems. Oral-B heads are round and made for oscillating-rotating handles, while Philips Sonicare heads click onto sonic handles. Always check your handle model before buying.
Which bristle stiffness is best?
Soft or medium bristles suit most people. Extra soft bristles are better if your teeth are sensitive or your gums bleed easily. Hard bristles are rarely needed with an electric toothbrush, because the motor does the work.
How many heads should I buy in a pack?
Choose the pack according to how many people will use the same handle system. One person who replaces the head every three months gets about a year from a pack of four. Families usually find packs of six or eight more convenient, since everyone can have their own head.
