Electric toothbrushes for adults and children: mostly sonic models, along with rotating and rotating-oscillating ones. Our range includes over 200 toothbrushes, with leading names such as Philips, Oral-B, Panasonic, AENO and ETA.
How to choose an electric toothbrush
Cleaning technology. Sonic brushes vibrate very quickly, so the bristles and the moving fluid in your mouth both help to clean. Rotating-oscillating brushes have a small round head that turns back and forth and cleans one tooth at a time. Most of the brushes in our range are sonic, with some rotating and vibrating models as well.
Brushing modes. One or two modes are enough for everyday care, though our range includes models with up to six. If your gums are sensitive, look for a gentle (Sensitive) mode. A whitening mode is generally meant to remove surface stains.
Timer. Dentists recommend brushing for two minutes, so a brush that tracks this for you is useful. Some models simply stop after 2 minutes, while others signal every 30 seconds so you move to the next part of your mouth (4 x 30 sec).
Power source. Most brushes in our range run on a battery, and some can also work from the mains. Chargers are often rated for 100 to 240 V, which makes them easy to take on a trip.
Who it is for. Most of our brushes are made for adults, but there are children's models too. A children's brush has a smaller head and softer bristles.

Frequently asked questions
Is an electric toothbrush better than a manual one?
In most cases, yes. An electric brush moves evenly and times your brushing for you, which makes it easier to remove plaque. Good technique and brushing twice a day still matter most, and a poorly used electric brush will not do better than a manual one.
What is the difference between a sonic and a rotating-oscillating toothbrush?
A sonic brush vibrates quickly and cleans with the whole head, while a rotating-oscillating brush has a round head that turns back and forth. The first feels closer to a normal toothbrush. The second cleans one tooth at a time, so you guide it from tooth to tooth.
How often should I replace the brush head?
Brush heads are usually replaced about every three months, or sooner if the bristles are bent or frayed. Worn bristles clean less well and can irritate the gums. Before buying, check that replacement heads are available for your chosen model.
Can a child use an electric toothbrush?
Yes, but it is best to choose a model made for children, with a smaller head and softer bristles. Our range includes children's toothbrushes. A dentist can advise on the right age to start.
