Laptop cases and sleeves are for anyone who carries a laptop every day and wants to protect it from scratches, knocks and dust. How to choose a laptop case
Size. Start with the screen size: our range includes cases for 13, 13.3, 14, 14.1, 15.6 and 16-inch laptops. The diagonal alone is not enough, because laptops with the same screen size differ in thickness and footprint, so compare your laptop's dimensions with the internal dimensions of the case. A loose case lets the laptop slide around, while a tight one can strain the seams and the zip.
Type of case. Slip-in sleeves are the most common type in our range: they are thin and made to go inside a backpack or bag. If the laptop is your only bag, choose a briefcase, messenger bag or backpack with a padded laptop compartment. A hardshell case resists pressure and knocks better, but it takes up more room.
Protection. Look for padding on the inside and reinforced corners, since a laptop most often gets damaged when it lands on a corner. If you walk outdoors a lot, choose a water-resistant material. A thin fabric sleeve guards against scratches, but not against a hard impact.
Compatibility. Some cases are universal and fit any brand of laptop of the right size, while others are made for Apple, HP, Dell or Lenovo models. A case made for a specific model hugs the body more closely, whereas a universal one is easier to keep if you replace the laptop later.
Pockets and extras. Think about whether you will also carry a charger, mouse, cables or papers. A very slim sleeve often has only a small outer pocket, while briefcases and backpacks usually have more compartments for these items.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find the right case size for my laptop?
Check the screen size and the length, width and thickness in the manufacturer's specifications. The case description should say which screen sizes it is made for, and its internal dimensions should be slightly larger than the laptop. A 15.6-inch case is a poor fit for a 14-inch laptop, because the laptop will slide about inside.
Is a sleeve enough if I carry my laptop in a backpack?
Often it is, as long as the backpack has a padded laptop compartment. The sleeve protects against scratches and keeps the laptop away from other items, while the compartment absorbs knocks. If the backpack has no padding, choose a thicker sleeve with reinforced corners.
Will a universal case fit a MacBook?
Yes, provided the screen size stated on the case matches your MacBook and the internal dimensions are large enough. Universal cases are not tied to one manufacturer, so size is what matters. Our range also includes cases made specifically for Apple laptops.
What is the difference between a laptop sleeve and a laptop bag?
