How to choose a universal laptop adapter
Voltage. Compare the output voltage with the figure printed on your original charger's label. Our range includes 18 V, 19 V, 20 V and 5 V values, and many laptops run at roughly 18 to 20 V. The wrong voltage can damage the laptop or simply fail to charge it.
Power. The adapter's wattage should be at least as high as that of the original charger. Connector tip. Check that the box includes a tip for your laptop's socket and that it sits firmly. The outer and inner diameters and the polarity must all match. Laptops with a USB-C charging port usually need a separate USB-C Power Delivery charger instead.
Protection. Choose an adapter with short-circuit, overheating and overcurrent protection, especially if you charge the laptop every day. Look for the CE mark and leave space around the adapter for ventilation, since it runs hotter under bedding or papers.
