Lightning cables are made for charging and syncing iPhones, iPads, AirPods and other Apple devices with a Lightning port. How to choose a Lightning cable
Connector on the other end. A USB-C cable is what you need if you have a USB-C charger or laptop, while USB-A suits older chargers and computer ports. Our range has plenty of both, along with some other combinations, such as Lightning with a 3.5 mm jack.
MFi certification. Cables licensed under Apple's Made for iPhone/iPad (MFi) programme contain an authentic control chip, so they normally keep working after iOS updates. Uncertified cables sometimes trigger an accessory warning or stop charging.
Length. Our range includes 0.5 m, 1 m, 1.2 m, 1.5 m, 2 m and 3 m cables, and 1 m is the most common. A 0.5 m cable is handy with a power bank, while 2 m or 3 m lets you use your phone when the socket is far from the bed or sofa.
Charging speed. Fast charging needs a cable with USB-C at the charger end and a charger that supports USB Power Delivery. This works with the iPhone 8 and newer. File transfer speed is limited by the Lightning connector itself, so a longer or pricier cable will not copy files any faster.
Durability. Cables most often fail right next to the plug, so look for reinforced strain relief or a braided sleeve. If you use your phone while it charges, an angled connector can help, although only a few such models are in our range.

Frequently asked questions about Lightning cables
Does a Lightning cable work with the iPhone 15?
No, the iPhone 15 and newer models have a USB-C port, so they need a USB-C cable. You need a Lightning cable for the iPhone 14 and older, many iPad models, AirPods cases and some other Apple accessories.
What is the difference between USB-C to Lightning and USB-A to Lightning cables?
The difference is the plug that goes into the charger or computer. A USB-C to Lightning cable, together with a Power Delivery charger, fast-charges the iPhone 8 and newer. USB-A to Lightning suits older chargers and computer ports but does not support fast charging.
Is an MFi-certified Lightning cable worth it?
Yes, because it contains a chip approved by Apple and is built to stay compatible with iOS. Uncertified cables may stop working after a system update or show a warning that the accessory is not supported.
What length of Lightning cable should I buy?
A 1 m cable is enough for everyday use. A 0.5 m cable works well with a power bank or in a car, while 2 m and 3 m cables help when the socket is far from where you use your device.
