USB and charging cables

This category contains USB and charging cables for phones, tablets, scanners and other devices, used for charging and for transferring data, with USB-C, USB-A and Lightning connectors. Over 90 models come from brands such as Delock, shiverpeaks, S-CONN, Flexline and StarTech.com.

How to choose a USB or charging cable

Connectors. Check both ends of the cable: one plugs into your device, the other into a charger or computer. Our range includes cables with USB-C, USB-A and Lightning connectors. Lightning is needed for older iPhones and some Apple accessories, while most newer phones and tablets use USB-C.

USB version. USB 2.0 is enough for charging and basic syncing, and quite a few cables in our range use it. If you often move large files, for example from an external drive, choose USB 3.2 Gen 1 (formerly called USB 3.1 Gen 1), which transfers data much faster.

Charging power. Fast charging depends on the cable as well as the charger, because the cable has to be rated for the current involved. Look for a stated power or current rating in the product description, as the simplest cables are often meant only for slow charging.

Length and plug shape. A longer cable helps when the socket is out of reach, but a very long one can slow data transfer and weaken charging. Straight plugs are more common in our range, while an angled plug is useful in tight spaces, such as when a device stands against a wall or sits in a dock.

Brands we carry

  • Delock: known for computer connectivity products such as cables, adapters and expansion cards.
  • StarTech.com: makes cables, adapters and docking stations aimed at professional IT environments.
  • Zebra and Honeywell: known for barcode scanners and mobile computers, so their cables are typically made for those manufacturers' own devices.
  • Renkforce: the house brand of the electronics retailer Conrad, covering cables and computer accessories.
  • Sandberg: a Scandinavian maker of computer and mobile accessories.

Also in our range: shiverpeaks, S-CONN, Flexline, Maxtrack and LogiLink.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 cables?

The difference is data transfer speed: USB 2.0 reaches up to 480 Mbit/s, while USB 3.2 Gen 1 reaches up to 5 Gbit/s. For charging the difference rarely matters, but it is easy to notice when copying large files. Our range includes cables of both versions.

Does every USB-C cable support fast charging?

No, because USB-C only describes the shape of the connector. Cables differ in the power they support and in data speed, and some are meant only for slow charging or USB 2.0 data. Check the power rating in the description before buying.

Which cable do I need for an iPhone?

Older iPhones with a Lightning port need a Lightning cable, while newer models, starting with the iPhone 15, use USB-C. The other end depends on your charger: USB-A or USB-C. Our range includes both Lightning and USB-C cables.

Is a cable with an angled plug worth choosing?

Yes, if the socket is close to a wall, a desk edge or a dock, because an angled plug does not stick out and bends the cable less. In other situations a straight plug is enough. Straight plugs are more common in our range, with fewer angled ones.
