Case brackets and stands are for anyone building or upgrading a PC who needs to support a graphics card, mount it vertically or lift the case off the floor. Our range has over 30 models, including products from Inter-Tech, Lian Li, Delock and CableMod.
How to choose a case bracket or stand
Purpose. Choose a graphics card support if a heavy card sags away from the PCIe slot. A vertical bracket is what you need to turn the card sideways against the glass panel, while a stand or feet raise the whole case.
Compatibility. Check that your case has the mounting holes and expansion slot positions the bracket relies on. Measure the card's length and thickness too: a triple-slot card may not fit a bracket made for dual-slot models.
Adjustable height. A support with adjustable height can be set up for different cards, whereas a fixed-height product only suits the case it was made for. The part touching the card should be soft or rubberised so that it does not scratch it.
PCIe cable. Vertical mounting needs a PCIe riser cable. If you have a PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 card, the cable must support the same standard, otherwise operation may be unstable. Some kits include the cable, while others need it bought separately.
Material. An aluminium or steel bracket will not bend under the weight of the card, and rubber feet on a stand stop the case from sliding and dampen vibration.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a graphics card support bracket?
Not always, but it is recommended for heavy and long cards. A card held only by the PCIe slot and the rear bracket can sag over time, which strains the slot. A support under the card reduces that load, especially if you move the PC often.
How do I choose a vertical graphics card bracket?
First check that the bracket is made for your case model, or at least for its expansion slot layout. Then consider the card's thickness and the standard of the PCIe riser cable. Make sure there is still room for air to reach the card's fans.
Does vertical mounting make cooling worse?
It can, if the card's fans sit right against the glass or case panel and cannot draw in air. Leave the gap between the fans and the panel that the manufacturer specifies. With enough space, temperatures usually differ only slightly.
Does a PC case need a stand?
No, but it can help. A stand or feet lift the case off the floor, so less dust reaches the power supply or fan intake at the bottom. They also stop the case from sliding on smooth or soft surfaces.
