How to choose a phone case
Model compatibility. A case is made for one specific model, so the cut-outs for the camera, buttons and charging port only line up on that phone. Screen size alone is not enough, because phones of the same size can have different camera modules. Our range includes cases for screens up to 15.5 cm (6.1 in), 17 cm (6.7 in) and 17.5 cm (6.9 in), mainly for Apple and Samsung, with a few for Motorola, Xiaomi and Lenovo.
Case type. Most cases are back covers: they wrap the back and edges and leave the screen open. A wallet or folio case also covers the display and holds a bank or travel card. A holster suits anyone who often carries the phone on a belt, for example at work.
Level of protection. A thin clear case mainly guards against scratches and light knocks. If your phone gets dropped often, look for a case described as shock or drop resistant, with reinforced corners and a thicker body. Our range includes cases with scratch, bump, dust and drop protection.
Material. Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and silicone are flexible, absorb impacts and slip on easily. Hard plastic or polycarbonate holds its shape and looks slimmer, while leather or microfibre feels better in the hand but protects less against a hard impact. Some cases are made from recycled plastic.
Wireless charging and magnets. If you charge wirelessly or use magnetic mounts, check that the case is designed for it. A thin plastic or silicone case rarely causes problems, while a thick one or one with a metal part can interfere with charging.

Frequently asked questions about phone cases
Which type of case protects a phone best when dropped?
A thicker case with reinforced corners that is described as drop or shock resistant protects best. These cases often combine a soft inner layer to absorb the impact with a hard outer shell. A thin clear case mainly protects against scratches.
Will a case fit another phone of the same size?
Usually not. Even phones with the same screen size differ in camera module shape, button position and thickness. Check the exact model name before buying rather than relying on screen size.
Does a phone case stop wireless charging?
A thin plastic or silicone case normally does not. A thick case, or one with a metal plate or card pocket on the back, can weaken the connection with the charger. If you use MagSafe or other magnetic accessories, choose a case that states it supports them.
What is the difference between a wallet case and a normal back cover?
A wallet case also covers the screen and has inner pockets for cards. A back cover only protects the back and edges, so it is slimmer and the phone is quicker to pull out. The first suits people who want to carry fewer items, the second those who care most about a slim profile.
