How to choose a laptop battery
Exact model. A battery fits only certain laptop series, even when two laptops look alike. Compare your laptop's model name and the code on the old battery with the list of compatible models in the product description.
Original or compatible. Original batteries are made by the laptop manufacturer itself, such as DELL, LENOVO, HP or ASUS. Compatible batteries come from other makers such as 2-POWER or GREENCELL, and they are often useful when the original battery for an older model is no longer made.
Cell count and capacity. In our range most batteries have 3, 4 or 6 cells, with some 2, 8 and 9-cell versions. More cells usually mean higher capacity and longer runtime, but the voltage (V) and physical size must still match the original battery.
Technology. Most batteries are either Li-Ion or LiPo. LiPo cells are often used in thin laptops because they are flat, while Li-Ion is typical of batteries built from cylindrical cells. Other chemistries are rare in our range and are not something you need to look for.
Replacement method. Some batteries slide out after you release a latch, while others sit inside the case and need the bottom cover removed. Check how the battery is fitted in your laptop and decide whether to swap it yourself or leave it to a repair shop.

Replace the battery when the laptop shuts down without mains power, the charge level jumps suddenly or runtime is clearly shorter. If the battery has swollen or the case no longer closes properly, stop using the laptop and replace the battery as soon as possible.
