Wired keyboards

Wired keyboards for office, home and specialist work: full-size, tenkeyless and mini models, in both mechanical and membrane designs. Our range includes over 600 models, with brands such as CHERRY, DELL, LENOVO, HP and Logitech.

How to choose a wired keyboard

Connection. Most keyboards in our range connect over USB, while a handful have PS/2 or both. PS/2 is only needed for older computers and some specialist equipment, so check which port your device has before buying.

Size. Full-size keyboards with a numeric keypad make up most of our range and suit anyone who enters numbers often. A tenkeyless model takes up less desk space and leaves more room for the mouse. A mini keyboard helps when the desk is cramped or you carry the keyboard around.

Key mechanism. A mechanical keyboard has a separate switch under every key, which gives a clearer keystroke and is usually more comfortable for heavy typing. Membrane keyboards are quieter and simpler, and most office models are of this type. In a shared workspace, low noise may matter more than keystroke feel.

Layout and key legends. Our range includes QWERTY, QWERTZ and AZERTY keyboards. QWERTY is the standard in the UK and most of Lithuania, but check whether the keys carry the local letters you need, as not every manufacturer prints them. Touch typists can manage without legends, though beginners benefit from them.

Purpose and extra features. We stock universal, office, gaming and medical keyboards. Medical models are generally built to be wiped down and disinfected easily. Some keyboards include a built-in touchpad or trackball, so no separate mouse is needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is a mechanical or a membrane keyboard better?

A mechanical keyboard suits people who type a lot or play games and want a distinct keystroke. A membrane keyboard is quieter and simpler, which is why it is more common in offices. Both types are in our range, so you can choose by workplace and typing habits.

What is the difference between a USB and a PS/2 keyboard?

A USB keyboard plugs into virtually any modern computer and can be connected or removed while the computer is running. PS/2 is an older connector found only on some motherboards and specialist equipment. If your computer has no PS/2 socket, choose USB.

What is the difference between QWERTY and QWERTZ keyboards?

On a QWERTZ layout the Z and Y keys swap places, and some punctuation marks sit elsewhere compared with QWERTY. QWERTZ is common in Germany and several other Central European countries. In the UK, QWERTY is the usual choice and the one most people are used to.

Is a wired keyboard better than a wireless one?

A wired keyboard needs no batteries or charging, and its signal arrives without noticeable delay. That makes it a good fit for a permanent desk and for gaming. A wireless keyboard is more convenient if you want to use it further from the computer or move it often.
