Instant film

Instant film comes in cartridges of ready-to-develop photo sheets for instant cameras and some instant photo printers. Our range has over 15 items, mostly FUJIFILM, plus a Canon product. It suits parties, trips and family occasions where you want the print in your hand straight away.

How to choose instant film

Camera compatibility. The cartridge must match the format of your camera or printer, because Instax Mini, Wide and Square cartridges cannot be swapped. The manufacturer states the exact format in the manual and on the box, so check your model before ordering.

Photo size. Mini prints are about the size of a bank card and fit into a wallet or a small album. Wide prints are nearly twice as broad, which suits group shots and landscapes, while the Square format gives the square image familiar from social media.

Pack size. An Instax cartridge usually holds 10 shots, and twin packs hold 20. For a party or a holiday it is worth having a spare cartridge, because the shots run out faster than you expect.

Film type. Besides standard colour film there are black and white versions and films with decorative frames. The frame changes the mood of the print, so for a gift or a guest book choose one to match the occasion.

Expiry date. The date printed on the box shows how long the film develops images without distortion. Afterwards colours can fade and contrast drop, so do not buy more than you will use within a few months.

Brands in our range

  • FUJIFILM: makes Instax instant cameras and their film, so most cartridges in this category come in Mini, Wide and Square formats made for those cameras. Some items are listed under the name FUJI.
  • Canon: known for its Zoemini and Ivy pocket photo printers, which use ZINK paper and need no ink cartridges.

Frequently asked questions

Which film fits my Instax camera?

You need the same format as your camera: Mini, Wide or Square. Instax Mini film is made for Instax Mini cameras, and Wide film for the wider models. If you are unsure, look up the format in the camera manual.

How long does an instant photo take to develop?

The image starts to appear within a few seconds and settles fully after a few minutes. There is no need to shake the print. It is better to leave it still and keep it out of bright light.

Can I use instant film after its expiry date?

You can, but the result is unpredictable. Colours may look pale and the image may turn cloudy or uneven. If the photo matters, use the film before the date on the box.

How should I store instant film?

Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Never leave film in a car on a hot day. The original packaging protects it from light, so open it only when you load the cartridge into the camera.
