Computers

Computers at SHOPRO.LT cover office machines, rugged handheld terminals for warehouses and shops, and server hardware for small companies. Our range holds over 20 models, including products from Lenovo, Honeywell, Zebra, HPE and Dell. Because the category mixes different device types, it helps to decide first what the computer will actually do.

How to choose a computer

Purpose. A desktop for office software, a handheld terminal for scanning barcodes in a warehouse and a server for shared files are three quite different purchases. This decision sets the form factor, the operating system and how much maintenance the device will need.

Processor and memory. For office work, browsing and video calls, a recent mid-range processor with 16 GB of RAM is a comfortable base, while 8 GB suits light tasks only. Servers and virtual machines need considerably more memory, so look for a platform with ECC support, which most server platforms offer.

Storage. An SSD makes the system start and applications load noticeably faster than a hard drive does. Servers often use several drives in a RAID array so that one failed drive does not stop the work, so check how many drive bays the chassis has.

Connections. Count the USB ports, display outputs and network connectors you need. Among products in our range with a connectivity type listed, wired is the most common, and a few support both wired and wireless. If a device has to work over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, check this before ordering.

Durability and management. Handheld terminals are usually built to survive dust and drops, so look at the IP rating and the stated drop height. Servers and business PCs often offer remote management, which helps when no IT person is nearby.

Frequently asked questions

Which computer should I buy for the office?

For most office work, a desktop with a recent processor, 16 GB of RAM and an SSD is enough. That setup handles documents, email, a browser and video calls smoothly. If you plan to keep the machine for many years, choose a model where the memory can be expanded.

How is a mobile computer different from a normal one?

A mobile computer is a handheld device designed for work on the move, for example in a warehouse or shop. It usually has a built-in barcode scanner, a screen that withstands dust and drops, and a battery that lasts a full shift. A standard computer does not normally offer these features.

Is a server worth buying for a small company?

A server is worth considering when the whole team needs shared files, backups, access control or virtual machines. A small company often manages with one compact server and two or more drives in a RAID array. If you only need a few shared folders, a network storage device can be simpler.

How much RAM does a computer need?

For office work, 16 GB is enough, and 8 GB suits only simple tasks. If you use large spreadsheets, many browser tabs or virtual machines, choose 32 GB or more. Check how much memory the motherboard supports before buying.
