This category covers printer consumables: toner and ink cartridges, drum units, waste toner containers, maintenance kits and rollers for home and office printers. Our range includes over 3,000 products, among them ActiveJet, Xerox, Epson, Brother and Lexmark items, in both original and compatible versions.
How to choose printer consumables
Printer model. Cartridges and other parts are made for specific printer series, so check the exact model name and the code of the cartridge currently installed. Our range includes consumables compatible with Epson, Brother, HP, Canon, Xerox and Kyocera printers. A cartridge for a similar model from the same maker does not always fit.
Original or compatible. Original cartridges are made by the printer manufacturer, so results and page yields are more predictable. That matters if the printer is still under warranty or you print documents with fine detail. Compatible cartridges are made by other companies for the same printers and usually cost less per page. Our range has both.
Toner or ink, and colours. Laser and LED printers use toner, while inkjet printers use ink cartridges. Colour printers usually need four colours: black, cyan, magenta and yellow, sold singly or as a set of four. If only one colour has run out, buy just that one. A full set is useful when filling a new printer for the first time.
Page yield and pack size. The same cartridge often comes in standard and high-capacity versions. A higher yield usually lowers the cost per page, but it only pays off if you print regularly. Most items in our range are sold as a single piece, though packs of 2, 3, 4 or more are also available.
Other wear parts. Laser printers sometimes need a drum unit, a waste toner container, rollers or a maintenance kit as well. If prints show streaks or spots while there is plenty of toner, a worn drum is often the cause. These parts are in our range too, in smaller numbers than cartridges.
Brands in our range
- ActiveJet: makes compatible cartridges and toners for the printers of many manufacturers, so one supplier can cover a mixed fleet of printers.
- Xerox: known for office laser printers and multifunction devices, with original toners and drums made for those series.
- Epson: known for inkjet printers, including models with refillable ink tanks (EcoTank), which is why you will find ink for its inkjet range here.
- Brother: in many of its laser models the toner and the drum are separate parts, so they are bought under different codes.
- Lexmark: focuses mainly on business laser printers and multifunction devices, so its toners suit office printing.
- Canon: makes both inkjet (Pixma) and laser (i-SENSYS) printers, and its original cartridges are made for both.
- HP: original cartridges for LaserJet laser printers and for inkjet models used at home and in the office.
- Kyocera: known for its ECOSYS printers, which have long-life drums, so toner is the main consumable you replace.
Also in our range: Actis, Peach and ColorWay.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find the right cartridge for my printer?
Use the exact printer model or the code of your current cartridge. The model name is usually printed on the front of the printer, and the code is on the cartridge or its box. After choosing a manufacturer, check that your model is listed in the product description.
Are compatible cartridges as good as original ones?
They can work well, but results vary between manufacturers. Original cartridges generally give more consistent quality and a known page yield. Compatible ones cost less, so many people choose them for everyday document printing. If your printer is under warranty, check its terms first.
What is the difference between toner and an ink cartridge?
Toner is a fine powder used in laser and LED printers, while ink is a liquid used in inkjet printers. The two cannot be swapped, because each printer type works in a different way. A laser printer suits frequent document printing, and an inkjet is often chosen for photos and occasional use.
Do I need to replace the drum when I change the toner?
No, a drum normally lasts longer than a single toner cartridge. Replace it when print quality drops or the printer shows a message. In some models the drum is built into the cartridge, while in others, such as many Brother printers, it is a separate part.
