If you already own batteries from a manufacturer, choose the bare-tool version without battery and charger so you stay within one system.
Torque and speeds. Torque, measured in newton metres (Nm), shows how much turning force the tool has, and long screws or thick timber need more of it. A two-speed gearbox lets you drill quickly and drive screws more slowly and precisely. Look at the chuck too: a keyless one makes changing bits quicker.
Motor and how often you work. A brushless motor wears less and makes better use of the battery, so it is worth considering if you work every day. Occasional household jobs are fine with a simpler model, while professionals benefit from a sturdy housing and a battery platform that fits other tools from the same maker.

What is the difference between a drill-driver and an impact driver?

What voltage should a cordless drill have?
