Mounting kits and accessories for liquid cooling suit anyone building a custom water-cooling loop or adding to an existing one. The range of over 70 items covers fittings, adapters, mounting hardware and small loop components, mostly from ALPHACOOL, with EK Water Blocks, der8auer and Aqua Computer also available.
How to choose liquid cooling mounting kits and accessories
Compatibility with the component. Mounting kits are made for a specific CPU socket or water block, so start by checking your socket type (for example Intel LGA1700 or AMD AM5) and the exact water block model. A kit from one manufacturer often does not fit another manufacturer's block.
Thread and fitting size. Most PC liquid cooling components use a G1/4 thread, so adapters and fittings generally match across brands. Still check that the fitting suits the inner and outer diameter of your tubing. Rigid tubing needs different fittings from soft tubing.
Material and finish. Copper, brass and nickel-plated parts are the usual options. It is wise not to mix different metals in one loop, such as aluminium with copper, because galvanic corrosion can damage the coolant and radiators over time.
Purpose in the loop. Work out what is actually missing: angled or straight adapters so the tubing fits the case, a drain valve for changing coolant, or extra screws and seals for mounting. A drain valve in particular makes it easier to empty the loop when you need to change the coolant or remove a component.
Brands we carry
- ALPHACOOL: A German manufacturer known for modular liquid cooling parts, fittings and water blocks; most of our range in this category comes from this brand.
- EK Water Blocks: A Slovenian company best known for CPU and graphics card water blocks.
- der8auer: A brand named after the well-known German overclocker Roman Hartung, with products focused on CPU cooling and overclocking.
- Aqua Computer: A German company known for its aquaero fan and loop controllers and for temperature and flow sensors.
Also in our range: XSPC and Thermalright.
Frequently asked questions
Do fittings from different brands fit together?
Usually yes, because most liquid cooling components use a G1/4 thread. The fitting must also match the diameter of your tubing, so check both before you buy.
Do I need a new mounting kit when I change CPU platform?
Often yes, because the water block mounting depends on the CPU socket. Some blocks support several sockets, while others need a separate kit. The block manufacturer lists the exact compatibility.
Can I mix copper and aluminium parts in a loop?
It is best to avoid it. Different metals in the coolant cause galvanic corrosion, which can damage radiators and contaminate the liquid. The safest approach is to use parts made of the same metal or with suitable plating.
What is a drain valve for, and is it necessary?
A drain valve lets you empty the loop without taking the tubing apart. It is not essential, but it saves a lot of time and lowers the risk of spills when you change coolant or remove a component.
