Case coolers

Case coolers

Case fans are mainly 120 mm and 140 mm fans for ventilating a computer case, plus a few air coolers. Our range has over 900 models, including THERMALTAKE, LIAN LI, Noctua, be quiet! and ARCTIC.

They suit anyone building a new PC, replacing a noisy fan or trying to improve airflow through the case.

How to choose a case fan

Size. The 120 mm fan is the most common size, followed by 140 mm, while 60, 80 and 92 mm models are made for smaller cases and specific mounting points. Start by checking which fan sizes your case supports. A 140 mm fan can often move the same amount of air at lower speeds, so it may run more quietly.

Airflow or pressure. Fans tuned for airflow work best at the front and rear of a case, where nothing blocks them. If the air has to pass through a dense mesh, a dust filter or a radiator, choose a model with high static pressure. Manufacturers usually list both figures in the specification.

Bearing type. Our range includes fluid dynamic (FDB), rifle, hydraulic, sleeve, ball and dual ball bearings. FDB and rifle bearings are generally quiet and long-lasting, while basic sleeve bearings tend to be the weakest on lifespan, especially when the fan is mounted horizontally.

Connector. A 4-pin (PWM) fan lets the motherboard control its speed precisely, whereas a 3-pin fan is regulated by voltage. You will find 3-pin, 4-pin and 6-pin models, as well as fans with two connectors for linking several fans in a chain. Check which fan headers your motherboard has before buying.

Pack size. Fans are sold singly and in packs of 3 and 5. A three-fan pack is convenient when you want matching fans for the front of the case or a radiator.

Brands in our range

  • Noctua: an Austrian manufacturer known for its quiet NF series fans and distinctive brown and beige look.
  • be quiet!: a German manufacturer best known for its quiet Silent Wings and Pure Wings fans.
  • NoiseBlocker: a German manufacturer that specialises in low-noise fans.
  • LIAN LI: its Uni Fan series has frames that interlock, which leaves fewer cables inside the case.
  • THERMALTAKE: many models with RGB lighting, such as the Riing series.
  • Corsair: RGB fans controlled through the iCUE software.
  • ARCTIC: its P series fans are designed for high static pressure, which suits radiators and filters.
  • Phanteks: the T30 series of 120 mm fans focuses on high static pressure.
  • NZXT: Aer series fans that work with the manufacturer's CAM software.

Also in our range: DELOCK, JONSBO and MONTECH.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose a 120 mm or 140 mm case fan?

It depends on your case, because the fan has to fit the mounting space. If the case supports both sizes, a 140 mm fan can often move more air at lower speeds, so it tends to be quieter. 120 mm models are the most numerous.

What is the difference between a 3-pin and a 4-pin fan?

A 4-pin fan is controlled by a PWM signal, so the motherboard can adjust its speed precisely. A 3-pin fan is regulated by voltage, and not every motherboard header supports that. A 4-pin fan can usually be plugged into a 3-pin header, but without PWM control.

How many fans does a PC case need?

Two or three are enough for most builds: one or two at the front to draw air in and one at the rear to push it out. Systems with demanding components may need more, while a small case may fit fewer. What matters most is that air moves through the whole case.

How should I arrange the fans in a case?

The usual layout has fans at the front and bottom drawing cool air in, and fans at the rear and top exhausting warm air. Air then flows from front to back and upwards, since warm air rises. Arrows on the fan frame show the direction of airflow.
