The ACT USB-C Active Optical Cable (AOC) is made of fiber and copper and is the perfect solution for connecting USB-C devices over long distances up to 15 meters without data/video/power loss. The 4-lane support makes it ideal for touchscreens, smartboards and digiboards. The fiber is Kevlar protected. The USB Active Optical Cables are suitable for sensitive applications due to low RFI/EMI. Ideal for use in meeting rooms, classrooms and hospitals.

AOC: copper and fiber for longer distances

Active Optical Cables (AOC) are made of copper and fiber for connecting USB-C devices over long distances without data/video/power loss. The maximum length of the cable is 15 meters.

Lossless data, video and power up to 15 meters

Data, video and power in one cable. Standard USB-C cables have a maximum length of 2 meters. With AOC the maximum length is 15 meters without loss of data/video/power. The ACT USB-C Active Optical Cables support USB 3.2 Gen2 for data/video transfer up to 10Gbps and DisplayPort Alternate Mode up to 4K@60Hz. Additionally, the cables can handle 60W Power Delivery. Please check the user scenarios as the maximum resolution and speed depend on the use of 2 or 4 lane technology.

Highly resistant to EMI/RFI and thus suitable for sensitive applications

The ACT Active Optical cables are suitable for connecting sensitive applications due to the low EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) / RFI (Radio Frequency Interference).
The highly sensitive equipment in hospitals requires cables without having the risk of electromagnetic or radio frequency interferences.

The USB 3.2 Gen2 AOC cables are backwards compatible with USB 3.1, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1.

User scenarios:
Touchscreens, smartboards and digiboards
The USB-C Active Optical Cables support 2-lane and 4-lane. When using the USB-C AOC cables with a touchscreen, 4 lanes are needed in order to work properly. In this case, data is inferior and will be set back to a maximum speed of 480Mbps (USB 2.0). DisplayPort Alternate mode 2.1 is supported with a maximum resolution of 4K@60Hz. The cable supports 60W Power Delivery.

Video and data

If you want to transfer video, data and power. The USB-C AOC cables are using 2-lane DP 1.4, with a maximum resolution of 4K@60Hz, USB 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps data throughput speed and 60W Power Delivery.

Data only

When using the USB-C Active Optical Cable for transferring data only, the data speed is based on USB 3.2 Gen2 with a maximum data throughput of 10Gbps and 60W Power Delivery.
