The VR/AR glasses category covers virtual reality headsets, augmented reality glasses with micro-displays and smart glasses, for gaming, films, work or everyday wear. Our range includes over 80 products, among them PIMAX, XREAL, VITURE and RAYNEO.
How to choose VR or AR glasses
Device type. A VR headset covers your whole field of view and places you in a virtual space, so it suits games and fully immersive content. AR or display glasses look like tinted spectacles: they show a large virtual screen in front of your eyes while you still see your surroundings. Smart glasses with a small display show text, notifications or translation and are made for daily wear.
Connection. Many display glasses connect by USB-C to a phone, laptop or games console, but the device must support video output over that port. PC VR headsets need a computer with a discrete graphics card, while standalone headsets work without one. Check the ports and supported systems before you buy.
Image quality. Resolution per eye, field of view and refresh rate matter most. Higher resolution reduces the visible pixel grid, a wider field of view adds to the sense of immersion, and 90 Hz or more helps avoid eye strain and motion sickness.
Comfort. Weight and how it is balanced decide how long you can wear the glasses without a break. If you wear spectacles, check whether prescription lens inserts or an adjustable lens distance are available. VR headsets are often paired with a better head strap or an external battery.

Frequently asked questions about VR/AR glasses
What is the difference between VR and AR glasses?
VR glasses cover your entire field of view and show only a virtual image. AR glasses let you see your surroundings and add an extra image on top, such as a large screen or text. The first suit gaming, the second suit watching video and viewing information.
Does a VR headset need a computer?
Not always. Standalone VR headsets work on their own, while PC VR headsets such as PIMAX connect to a computer and use its graphics card. Check which type a model belongs to before you buy.
Can I use VR or AR glasses if I wear spectacles?
Usually yes. Many models have an adjustable distance to the eyes or accept prescription lens inserts, and some display glasses let you adjust the focus. Check the product description for the details of each model.
Can I watch films from my phone with AR glasses?
Yes, provided the phone supports video output over USB-C. The glasses then show the phone screen as a large virtual display. If the phone lacks this feature, you will need an extra adapter or a different source device.
