How to choose a 3D printer
Printing technology. FDM printers melt plastic filament and build the part layer by layer, which suits functional parts and prototypes. Resin printers cure liquid resin with light and reproduce finer detail, such as miniatures, but they need gloves, washing and post-curing.
Build volume. The build volume sets the largest object you can print in one piece. A bigger volume takes up more desk space and prints take longer, so a medium-sized bed is often enough for home projects.
Materials. PLA is the easiest to print, PETG is stronger and more moisture-resistant, and ABS or ASA need an enclosed chamber. Engineering plastics such as PEEK are the territory of industrial printers. Our range includes eSUN and Polymaker filaments, and the usual filament diameter is 1.75 mm.
Ease of use. Automatic bed levelling, an enclosed chamber and Wi-Fi shorten the path to the first successful print. For a beginner, these matter more than top printing speed.

A beginner is best served by an FDM printer with automatic bed levelling and PLA filament. Such a machine removes most of the fine-tuning, and the material is forgiving of mistakes. A resin printer is worth choosing only when you need very fine detail.
What is the difference between FDM and resin 3D printers?
FDM printers use melted plastic filament, while resin printers use liquid resin cured by light. The former are simpler to run and suit tougher parts, and the latter give a smoother surface and finer detail. Resin printing needs more handling, as parts have to be washed and the resin irritates skin.
Which filament is suitable for 3D printing?

Does a 3D printer need an enclosed chamber?
