This category covers monitors and displays that do not fit the usual office-monitor mould: large-format professional screens, touchscreen and industrial monitors, and other specialist models for business, public spaces and home use. Our range holds over 500 products, including Samsung, iiyama, LG and Philips.
How to choose a non-standard monitor
Purpose. Start by deciding whether the screen will sit on a desk, hang on a wall in a public space or serve as a control panel. If it will run for many hours a day, choose a model built for long operation rather than an ordinary home monitor.
Resolution and size. Most models in our range are 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160), quite a few are Full HD (1920 x 1080), and some offer 2560 x 1440 or the older 1280 x 1024. On a large screen viewed up close, 4K is the better choice because Full HD pixels become visible. From a few metres away, Full HD is often enough.
Panel type. You will mostly find IPS and VA panels, along with ADS and TN. IPS is known for even colours and wide viewing angles, VA for deeper blacks and higher contrast, and TN for fast response but narrower angles. Many of our models list viewing angles of 178°, so people standing to the side can still see the picture clearly.
Connections and mounting. Many models have 2 or 3 HDMI inputs and some have 4 or more, which matters when several sources share one screen. Also check for DisplayPort, whether VESA mounting suits your setup, and whether you need a touchscreen.

Frequently asked questions
How does a non-standard monitor differ from a regular one?
A non-standard monitor differs in purpose and construction: it may be a large-format screen for a public space, or a touchscreen or industrial model. Such displays often offer more inputs and mounting options. Because this category mixes different types of product, read the specification carefully before buying.
Does a non-standard monitor need 4K resolution?
4K is worth choosing when the screen is large and viewed up close, for example when working with small text, drawings or photographs. Most models in our range are 4K. If the screen hangs further from viewers and shows simple content, Full HD may be enough.
Should I choose an IPS or a VA panel?
IPS suits situations where accurate colour and wide viewing angles matter, while VA suits those where deeper blacks and higher contrast matter more. Both types are well represented in our range. VA tends to look better in a dim room, whereas IPS is more comfortable where many people view the screen from different sides.
How many HDMI inputs does a monitor need?
One HDMI input is enough if you connect a single source. If the screen will share a computer, a media player and a games console, choose at least three inputs. Models in our range have from one to six HDMI inputs.
