How to choose a TV
Screen size and distance. The closer you sit, the smaller the screen you need: a bedroom or kitchen often suits 32 or 43 inches, while a living room with a seating distance of about three metres works well with 55 or 65 inches. In our range, 55 inch models are the most common, followed by 65, 75, 43 and 50 inch sets.
Resolution and panel type. Most of our televisions are 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160). Full HD and HD models are far fewer, and 8K sets are only a handful. From 43 inches upwards the benefit of 4K is easy to see, while Full HD is still enough for a small screen. OLED panels show deeper blacks in a dim room, whereas brighter LED and QLED sets cope better in a well-lit living room.
Smart platform. Samsung televisions run Tizen, LG uses WebOS, and you will also find models with Google TV, Android TV, VIDAA and Titan OS. Check that the apps you use every day, such as streaming and catch-up services, are available on the platform.
Connections. Most televisions in our range have three or four HDMI ports, which is enough for a console, a set-top box and a soundbar. If you plan to game with a console or PC, look for HDMI 2.1 and 120 Hz support, and for a soundbar HDMI eARC is useful.
Mounting. Before choosing a wall bracket, find out your TV's VESA hole pattern and weight. The bracket's stated maximum load and screen size limits must match your model.

TV buying questions
What size of TV should I buy?
For a living room, a 55 or 65 inch TV usually suits a seating distance of around three metres. A bedroom or small room is fine with 32 or 43 inches. A 75 inch screen makes sense only when you can sit further back.
Is a 4K TV worth buying?
Yes, because most current content and streaming services offer 4K, and 4K models make up most of the televisions in our range. Full HD may be enough for a small screen of 32 inches or less. On larger screens the difference is clearly visible.
What is the difference between Tizen, WebOS and Google TV?
They are different TV operating systems: Tizen is used by Samsung, WebOS is LG's system, and Google TV appears on models from several manufacturers. The menu layout, remote control and available apps differ. Before buying, check that the system supports the apps you need.
How do I choose a TV wall mount?
Start with your TV's VESA hole pattern and weight, then pick a bracket that supports both. A fixed mount keeps the TV closest to the wall, while a tilting or swivelling one lets you adjust the viewing angle. If a wall mount is not an option, a stand is the alternative.
