Our speakers and soundbars category covers computer speakers, portable Bluetooth speakers, TV soundbars and speakers for listening to music at home. They suit anyone who finds the sound of a TV, phone or laptop too thin. Our range includes over 2,000 models, with brands such as Lenovo, Edifier, JBL, Sony and Logitech.
How to choose a speaker or soundbar
Type and where you will use it. A soundbar sits under the TV or mounts on the wall and makes dialogue much easier to follow. A 2.0 or 2.1 speaker set suits a computer desk, while a portable speaker with a battery is better for travel, the terrace or the beach. For music in a living room, bookshelf or floor-standing speakers with an amplifier give a fuller sound.
Connectivity. Our range includes wireless, wired and mixed models, and the mixed ones, which support both a cable and a wireless connection, are the largest group. They are flexible: you can pair a phone over Bluetooth and connect a TV or computer with a cable, which avoids audio delay. Some speakers also have TWS, which lets you link two speakers as a stereo pair.
Connections for a TV. Before buying a soundbar, check which sockets your TV has. HDMI ARC or eARC is the simplest option, because the TV remote then controls the soundbar volume. If it is missing, an optical digital input or a 3.5 mm socket is usually enough.
Bass and power. Watts alone do not tell you how a speaker will sound, because manufacturers measure power in different ways. Size, the number of drivers and whether there is a separate subwoofer matter more. For a portable speaker, also check battery life and the IP rating for water and dust protection.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a soundbar and ordinary speakers?
A soundbar is a long speaker bar designed to sit under a TV or hang on a wall. It houses several drivers in one unit, so there are no cables running to separate speakers. Ordinary speakers usually create a wider stereo image but take up more space.
Is a Bluetooth or a wired speaker better?
Bluetooth is more convenient for phones and portable use, while a cable is better when audio and video must stay precisely in sync. For a TV or computer, a wired or mixed model is therefore often the safer choice. Mixed speakers let you use both methods.
Can I connect a soundbar to any TV?
Most modern TVs have at least one suitable output: HDMI ARC, optical or a 3.5 mm socket. HDMI ARC is the most convenient, as one cable carries the sound and lets the TV remote control the volume. Check the back of the TV or its manual before buying.
Which speakers should I choose for a computer?
A 2.0 or 2.1 set with a USB or 3.5 mm connection is usually enough for a computer. For a small desk, bookshelf speakers work well, and a set with a subwooferis better if you want more bass. A wireless speaker is handy if you also want to connect it to a phone.
