The games consoles category covers consoles, controllers, racing wheels and other gaming gear for people who play on a TV, a monitor or a sim rig. Our range holds over 1,400 products, including Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, Logitech and Thrustmaster.
The category mixes several product types, so it helps to decide first whether you want the console itself or something to go with it.
How to choose a games console or gaming gear
Platform. Start with the system: PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo. Each has its own exclusive games, and purchased libraries generally do not carry over from one platform to another, so think about what you want to play and what your friends use.
Where you play. Nintendo Switch family consoles can be used connected to a TV or held in your hands, while PlayStation and Xbox consoles usually stay by the screen. If you will play on the move or in different rooms, portability matters more than top image quality.
Accessory compatibility. Controllers, wheels, keyboards and mice do not always work across every platform. Check that the product is made for your console or PC, because the same manufacturer often sells separate versions for PlayStation, Xbox and computers.
Type of racing wheel. Entry-level wheels create force feedback with gears or belts, while direct drive bases deliver more precise and stronger resistance. Those models need more space and a firm mount on a desk or seat. Beginners often do well with a simpler set that includes pedals, while sim racing enthusiasts tend to look at direct drive.
Screen and connections. A console with an HDMI output works with most TVs, but you will only use higher resolutions and refresh rates if the screen supports them too. Controllers, wheels and other accessories usually need free USB ports or a wireless connection.

Games console FAQ
What is the difference between PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch?
The main differences are the game library and how you play. PlayStation and Xbox are built for gaming on a TV, while Switch family consoles also work as portables. Each system has exclusive games, so choose by what you want to play.
Does a racing wheel work with every console?
No, wheels are usually made for specific platforms. The same model may come in a PlayStation, Xbox or PC version, and some work with several. Always check compatibility in the product description.
How is a direct drive wheel different from a normal one?
A direct drive base has a motor connected straight to the wheel shaft, so force feedback is more precise and stronger than with gear or belt systems. These units need a firm mount and more space. Beginners often find a simpler set sufficient.
Can I connect a keyboard and mouse to a console?
Some consoles support USB keyboards and mice, but it depends on the model and the game. In some games they only work in menus or for chat. Check what your console and the game support before buying.
